How can I add more file space to my email accounts?

Each email account has a quota: the most space its email and attachments can use. When an account is full, people who email you get a message back saying the mailbox is full, and their email isn't delivered.

To stop this happening:

  1. Delete email you no longer need, especially messages with large attachments, and empty the Trash and Sent folders. If your email app uses IMAP, deleting a message there also deletes it from the server.
  2. Keep older email on your computer. In Apple Mail or Outlook, move older messages to a folder on your computer (in Apple Mail, a mailbox under On My Mac). This takes them off the server.
  3. Give the account a bigger quota:
    1. Log in to your client area.
    2. Go to Services > My Services.
    3. Next to your EverWeb + Hosting plan, click the arrow beside the wrench button and choose Email Accounts.
    4. Click Change Quota for the email account and enter a larger size.

Your email accounts and your website share your plan's disk space, so a bigger quota uses more of it. If you need more space overall, contact us and we'll help you move to a larger plan.
