Create an email address with your own domain (EverWeb + Hosting)

With EverWeb + Hosting, you can create email addresses that use your own domain, such as [email protected]. You can create them in the EverWeb app or on your EverWeb account page (the Client Area). Both do the same thing, and an address made in one shows up in the other.

Before you start

Create an address in EverWeb

  1. Open your project file and choose File > Edit Publishing Settings.
  2. Check that Publish To is set to EverWeb and that you're signed in. If you're not, sign in at EverWeb > Settings > Account (Windows: Edit > Options > Account).
  3. Scroll down to Email Addresses and click Add.
  4. In the Add Email window, type the part before the @, such as info. If you have more than one domain, choose the right one from the menu after the @.
  5. Type a password of at least 8 characters in Password and Confirm Password, then click Create.

Your new address appears in the list. You can also watch the video.

Or create it on your EverWeb account page

  1. Sign in to the Client Area.
  2. Go to Services > My Services and click your hosting plan.
  3. Under Manage Account, click Email Accounts.
  4. Click Create Email Account, enter the address and a password, and save.

Keep your email password safe

Each address has its own password. It isn't your EverWeb account password. Write it down somewhere safe, because we can't show it to you later. If you forget it, you can set a new one: see How do I change or reset my email password?

Next: read and send your mail

How much mail each address can hold

A new address can hold 250MB of mail (its mailbox limit, called Email Quota). You can raise it under Email Accounts in the Client Area. All your addresses and your website share your plan's storage, so a bigger mailbox limit doesn't add space. See How can I add more file space to my email accounts?

Your plan also sets how many addresses you can create:

Plan Email addresses
EverWeb + Hosting 2GB (Hosting Lite) 5
EverWeb + Hosting 10GB (Hosting Pro) 25
EverWeb + Hosting 25GB 50

To compare all plans, including larger ones, see the pricing page. If you need more addresses, you can move to a bigger plan.

If it doesn't work

  • No mail is arriving: check that your nameservers point to EverWeb Hosting. A change can take up to 48 hours, but usually finishes within 6, depending on your internet provider (ISP).
  • Your mail app says your password is wrong: check you're using the email password, not your EverWeb account password, and the full email address as the username.
  • Still stuck? Contact us with the address you created and a screenshot of any error.
