Thread: Publishing
Is there any way of publishing to a current site hosted on a 3rd party host via ftp?
I assume I could do this by first publishing to a local folder then use an ftp client to
upload it to a host.

You will need to publish to a folder then, upload. The only built-in publishing is for Rage's servers

Thread: Adding objects to the header or footer
I have previously (in iWeb) had a widget or two, set by adding the HTML code, in the header and/or footer. I can't seem to add anything other than the single title box to the header. Any way to do this, or will it be added in the future? Thanks. (See the top of the Front Page at www.njnaturenotes.com to understand this better.)

Thread: Object size
I would like to be able to click on any object's anchor points and see the size. Much easier than clicking the object and having to look at the inspector.
Thanks.

Thread: Object size
The issue, Roddy, is that you must move the anchor point to get a size to show. It should happen when just clicked on, or even hovered on, so you don't chance moving the object. Yes, I know you can undo any movement, but this is not how Apple worked and I would think that EasyWeb wants to maintain the best ease of use, too.

Thread: navigation bar font colors
Select the navigation menu, then click on the Hyperlinks tab in the Inspector window, and change the color for Rollover.

Thread: Video Tutorials - Using iWorks/iLife Media
There currently is not a video tutorial for integrating iWorks/iLife media. Though I discovered it on my own, it might be nice to add this to the "Video Tutorials" section.

There are many video tutorials currently in production. Eventually, everything will be covered and available for your viewing pleasure.

Thread: EasyWeb Marketing
I have to agree with you. For personal and small business it has to be a buy once option. I do however understand if EasyWeb had to be packaged with a Rage Hosting account, but personally believe that this would almost half the initial customers that have not tried it.

As for iWeb... Lets be honest, we have been using it the last 2-5 years and we Love it. On the same note, we all knew it would end someday and to me EW in a basic form that does most of iWebs functions plus many more.

Keep the thoughts coming ye all...

Thread: EasyWeb Marketing
Thought I would start a topic on this for Admin feedback ... my own curiosity as I currently study marketing.

A thought occurred to me. We have all compared EasyWeb to iWeb, but in the real world, iWeb is 4 years out of date and not a competitor in the EasyWeb market and not been available for the last two years with Lion ... Mountain Lion. I think it would be more Sandvox, 1...1, 123-Reg ... maybe GoDaddy that the type of competitors are for building websites "out the box".

Has anyone used anything like the above that can be compared to EasyWeb?
What was better?
What was worse?
What is value for money?
What would you expect to pay?
Would you prefer the Adobe approach to Pay Monthly, yearly or a one off payment?

(Paul, please feel free to edit questions incase you disagree)

Thread: EasyWeb Marketing
WoW! That certainly answers many questions. For me having everything in the same place makes sense. As for a previous comment price is an important factor. Personally RageSW is a little more expensive than my last hosting provider, but given the massive amount of Free iWeb support RageSW gave me, it made perfect sense to move to the people that knew what they were talking about.

My comment on EasyWeb + Hosting as a package putting people off, was mearly because RageSW is not so widly known as others (like godaddy) ... people can be a little "ill stick with what i know". Marketing the package the right way would encourage others, but the most important factor i think will be the launch ... reviews from places people already trust eg: MacWorld etc... I think most people on the forum already trust RageSW, but we are a small minority compared to the thousands of customers you will expect world wide ... all feedback is good. ;)

Thread: EasyWeb Marketing
I was almost begining to regret starting this thread as it seemed to go way off topic, however, as i said before "all feedback is good feedback". Whilst this went off on a tangent, i agree that many questions have been answered. I also agree that there seems to be so many negative comments accross the whole forum that are not constructive. Having never been on a forum before, maybe this is normal, but greatful, "constructive" feedback surely is better for all. After all, we do currently get all this for Free ... in return we assist with feedback, although i realise there has to be 'the good, the bad ... the ugly'.

This thread was originally created as i thought it would assist from a marketing point of view as to how to package ... sell the product, along with target market. It would be good to see that return...

So... What people value in todays market is a Guarantee before purchase, Support ... a clear definition of whats included. Possibly a price comparison area too?

[quote="pumpkin":3dg8u3wn]Just my two cents:

the support at ragesw is awesome. I had a lot of troubles transferring our two german domains to ragesw and the support helped a lot (!!!). Always calm, friendly and very supportive. That's something you can't pay enough for. And I'm glad I switched. The brilliant support alone is worth it.[/quote:3dg8u3wn]

I cannot agree enough. Even compared to Apple Support, (which always directed me to a forum, where generally Roddy answered my question), RageSW is undoubtably number #1. We know that from our experience, but to a completely new customer, how do we (RageSW) package that in a virtual box? The world is changing from a brows in our local PC World reading the backs of boxes and choosing the shiniest one... (It's shinny so it must be good) to downloads with no shinny boxes.

What about a forum where the "potential new customers" can ask questions and we "EW Groupies" (or is it geeks?) <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P --> could answer honestly and impartially? I think Roddy's experience alone should earn lots of commission! LoL!

Thread: Embedding Vimeo as HTML Snippet
Under Widgets there is an option to drag-n-drop Youtube vids, but there is no option for direct Vimeo videos, thus I have to use the HTML Snippet and paste the embed code from a vid on Vimeo to the webpage.

The problem - once the element is embedded into the webpage, EasyWeb does not have a preview "still" of the vid to show where it is - it appears invisible unless if you "find' it and click on it and thus see the adjustable corners (and thus resize and place by guess-n-reclicking on the invisible HTML Snippet.

Any way to solve this problem? Vimeo tends to have better quality than Youtube.

Thanks!
