Thread: General Observations
My bad... It will let you drag and drop from Photoshop, NOT Illustrator. I don't mind the Slideshow effect but would like control to make the frame dark gray or black. I get why the Tweet button is on there, but at least give the designer the option to hide it. I also just noticed that you can't manually rotate like in iweb (hold command).

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of EasyWeb and think you are on the right track, but it just is not ready to be called the iweb replacement... yet. Seems to me you need to start where iweb left off and build from there. For example... you said you will not offer adjustments until a future upgrade and FTP publishing again "later on". We need it now! In my opinion, this product needs to stay in Beta until then.

Thread: Disappearing Act
Welcome to today's episode;

Started my day thinking I would be clever and name all my photos in Assets, instead of img1 etc...
After uploading to the server, ALL images 'and' shapes (nothing changed with shapes), have disappeared, although present and correct on my EW screen.

Do I need to reinsert everything and start over? Please say No... <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

I have emailed the Screen Shot to you as I had problems uploading here.

Thread: SEO
EasyWeb does not need an SEO Tool as most of those features are built in. If you are familiar with SEO, and SEO Tool, you will know what optimizations to make. For example, you will want to optimize each page's title tag, and description. You can also add site wide header/footer codes like you did in SEO Tool. We'll also have a free SEO For EasyWeb video course released in the near future, which will provide users with a better understanding of SEO and how to apply it to an EasyWeb made site.

Thread: Photo gallery - normal/retina images?
You never need to have retina ready images. It is entirely up to you. If you would like the images in your photo gallery to be retina ready, then you will need to add retina versions of those images.

Thread: Photo gallery - normal/retina images?
Basically, any image you want to be retina ready, you will need to include two images on your site. If the first image, let's call it image.jpg is 250x250, then in order to make the image retina ready on your site, you would need to include another version of the image, but at 500x500. This image would need to be called image@2x.jpg

Note: you do not want to just take your 250x250 image and stretch it to become 500x500. My recommendation when editing your image would be to take the image at its highest resolution, and then resize it first at its retina size. Then from there, resize the image to half the size of the retina image.

Then you would add both those images to your site in EasyWeb. When you want to place the image somewhere on the site, just drag and drop the image.jpg file on the canvas. If you are using a retina Mac, the image will be displayed in retina. Likewise, once you publish the site, any user visiting your site on a retina device will then see the image in retina form. Otherwise, anyone else will see the original image.

Thread: iPhone View Is Completely Different
I changed my font on all of my pages from Mac's "Olive Oil" to "Impact" weeks ago to use a browser friendly font. When I view the practice site in Firefox I see the changes, but when I view it from the iPhone browsers (Safari and Atomic) I see the old Olive Oil. Is it something to do with the iPhone or is it to do with EasyWeb? It's a real head scratcher for me. I've redone this page a couple of times. I've closed both browsers and plugged the iPhone into my Mac and synced safari. What Gives? The photos below were just taken.

Paul, there is still no difference. I've cleared both caches in Atomic and Safari, closed the two apps, turned off the iPhone, and input the URLs manually. I'm stuck.

Thread: iPhone View Is Completely Different
Roddy, I just emailed it from my Firefox browser to my iPhone as a text. I looks great on the computer and crap on the iPhone. I wonder if the spaces in the URL are messing things up in the iPhone. Here's the address below (from Firefox). Oh, all of the pages are doing it. Is it OK to change the site name, or should I start over. Put dashes instead of spaces?

Changed it and it's still doing it.

Thread: Problems with the text box
Hello, I just started trying out the program;

So far, i only tried adding a page, textbox and images:

[1]Its main design looked fairly similar to iWeb, hence, i liked it and was familiar with it.

[2]I tried making a biography page with using a simple text box:
2.1. The text box couldn't be added by drag and drop, but instead, by clicking it.
2.2. The text box size box was not viewable probably beacause of my black backround,
I suggest maybe an adjustment to a blue outline color viewable with all templates.
2.3. The text arrangement inside the box got wrongly modified when changing the text box's size.

3 Its not very clear how to add a simple image to the page;
i miss a simple add image button with options of were the image is located, to double click and add it.

hope this was useful; I'll post more soon.

Thread: EasyWeb SEO
Hello Kids!
(I read some of this a while ago but can't find it now).
Okay, I have used Google Analytics in my Header Code and Stat Counter in my Footer Code, as with 'iWeb SEO Tool'. Will there in future be provision for <h1> codes, Meta Tags, Description etc... along with a Webcrusher and Sitemap Automator provision or as a separate item as per the iWeb tools?
Also on each page I have, there is a separate Header, Footer. Should I copy/paste the analytics into each page or leave blank for now? Thanks.

Thread: EasyWeb SEO
Roddy, how do you know all things www?

So:- Google Analytics from Header to Footer. (Bing Analytics code in footer too?)
and...
<h1> tags in HTML Widget (?) which means we do not need to put anything in the header/footer on each page, if I understand correctly...

Thread: EasyWeb SEO
Maybe a little paranoid about Google's spiders, but as a Driving School, we are in a very competitive market and "Must" be in Googles top 5 results. Our old page http://www.catz-eye.com does well with SEO Tool, webcrusher ... sitemap automator. Just keen to ensure http://www.catz-i.com does just as well with keywords etc

Perfect! I really appreciate the time you have taken to prepare this post.

I have read way too many books on SEO ... ive got to the point where i realise that all the authors "guess" as Googles Algorythms are after-all Secret! The Brief you just gave me is right back to basics and exactly what i need to do. Never for a second realise the importance of photos. Will try make a start on that tomorrow.

Thread: Adding things to the header
With my current iWeb website (www.njnaturenotes.com), the front page has several things in the header that I cannot seem to add to the EW version. Is there any way to do this, or will it be with a future implementation?
Thanks,
Rich
