| Thread: Massively disappointing ! |

A couple of quick examples: 1st is the photo gallery, need the option to control the # of photos per page and have some way of labeling the photos: 2nd is the image masking "cropping" users shouldn't have to inflate the image to mask or crop it. "I know ideally everyone would size or crop their images in a photo editor before using them in EasyWeb but, many of the other apps including iWeb support cropping the image so, ideally EasyWeb should also" |

Unfortunately I find hopes of a decent replacement for iweb have now faded away. The beta software I tested is not at all user friendly or even fully functional and for a web designer and photographer who needs to showcase work professionally the software is useless. What the team have failed to do is provide an easy way to make a web site that is simple and beautiful (it is easy to make an ugly web site) - an opportunity has been missed here to produce a winning product. Best of luck in developing this product but it is not for me thanks. Ruperto |

I have to admit that I too, had higher hopes or expectations for EasyWeb but, it is still in beta ... still has the opportunity to iron out a lot of the rough edges. I have since moved on to the Creative Cloud @ $600 a year while not happy about renting my software it does better suit my needs. |

| I think the navigation widget should at least hold the settings from the previously designed menu (font, color, link style) many people used the built-in navigation in iWeb that did not require them to copy ... paste or create a new navigation menu on each new page they created |

| I agree that the Web has changed completely in the last 3-5years and people want more to design ... view as they begin to build a relationship with the customer. What i dont understand is why Website developers would choose iWeb or EasyWeb as they are surely created for the uneducated and simple people like myself. Surely if too much is added too quickly, people will be put off EasyWeb. There (in my view) can never be one glove fits all. Maybe in another 3-5 years there can be add ons for people that want 'more'. In the mean time, if its not 'easy' to start with, who exactly would the average customer be? |

| Thread: Less Features Please! |
|
Roddy, I would imagine that most who are chomping at the bit for EasyWeb want all of the features that were in iWeb. Some of us NEED those features to maintain parity with what we have already created and await the opportunity to re-create our websites in EasyWeb. As for more features, don't expect the requests for them to diminish. They will only increase in time and EasyWeb may think of developing a Pro iteration to go along with the easy first version that you and others are creating now. Apple has tempted us twice with a very simply and straight-forward way to create a clean and attractive web presence. Some of us abandoned Apple's offering after the first application was dropped. But dropping iWeb was an insult and you have to expect that our time, efforts and creativity beg to be carried on. My own website is for nature, science and environmental interests (http://www.njnaturenotes.com). I feel that iWeb's capabilities were stretched and numerous people at Apple were surprised that iWeb was used to craft it. Those would be the minimum features that I personally would expect, but do fully understand that some will come later than others. Please understand that many of us want what we had, and since Apple will not provide it, it's now up to you. We can't apologize for wanting to increase our capabilities without having to learn how to code a website. We cut our teeth learning Apple's logical and direct methods, and that's what we want. Thanks for your dedication to task and hard work. We look forward to your new creation learning to walk, and then to run. I for one, would be more than willing to pay more for a pro version of EasyWeb. Think about it. Rich Wolfert New Jersey, USA |

| Thread: Less Features Please! |
| A great post Roddy ... you have certainly helped me a few times both here ... on Apple Support. The thing is, whilst i am eager to learn and indeed feel privelaged to be part of the EW development ... birth, things like CSS ... sliding photos etc are beautiful, but way beyond my knowledge. I think its important that we all strive to learn everyday, but some have more time than others, so its not ignorance that we dont know. Life always has a habit of getting in the way, which is why i agree with another of your posts that highlights simplicity. I think the problem for developers is that to achieve simplicity, its a very complicated process. To that end i would agree that maybe an EasyWeb Basic, intermediate ... pro version could be a great big hit ... sell exceptionally well. I imagine you could be a very big part of developing this and an exceptionally useful asset to RageSW. |
