| Thread: EasyWeb vs Google Site |
| I agree with you for the most part. A Google Sites is more basic on the surface. However, If you know your way around Photoshop and take advantage of some of the newer gadgets such as iframe, you can actually put together a rather impressive site. There is a 100MB limit, but if you upload your images on another server (such as Dropbox -free) it is plenty of room. I do hate the fact you can't freely arrange text and objects (very frustrating). Another advantage of a Google Site is the ability to share ownership with your client so they can make the day to day content updates without purchasing any additional software. Having said all that, I do like EasyWeb and will probably buy it, but I can understand why people might go the Google route for and alternate. |

| Thread: Image Gallery behavior after Publish |
| When you publish a page with a image gallery, the image size and spacing goes crazy on the EW page. |

| Thread: Slideshow Gadget |
| How about an "slide show gadget". You could dump all your images and have a direct link to the slideshow. The thing I always hated about iWeb was having to display the image gallery to access the slide show. For example a link that says "view are newest designs" where you click on it and it take you directly to the slideshow view. |

| Yes, but I don't want to show all the images on the page. I just want to be able to have a link straight to the slideshow. |

| Thread: Slideshow Gadget |
| I agree with Roddy, those would be perfect slideshows for EW. Hey Roddy, If they don't implement something like that, is it possible to add that type of slideshow to EW with a html widget? |

| Thread: Slideshow Gadget |
| Thanks Roddy! So what are the exact steps after adding the html widget. Do you copy the exact code from the index file? Thanks, I'm a newbie when it comes to code and working with the html widget. |

| This was at the bottom of you example... "All the relevent files have been uploaded to the server and the index.html referenced in an firame code in an HTML Widget to get it to appear on the EasyWeb created page". |

| Thread: Photoframe transparent |
| When using the 'photoframe with shadow' frame choice for a graphic, the white area becomes transparent when overlaid. Also shadow and reflection emanate from within the frame on the original image as it was before the 'photoframe' was introduced- very odd! |

I accept what you say Roddy about the shadow, I just used the shadow as an illustration of the problem, rather than suggesting that it be used for publishing. However, the problem exists with 'reflections' effect too and also the frame is transparent - see example image. Anything behind the 'frame' is visible. |

| Thread: Reflections Look More Realalistic in iWeb |
|
I tried copied this image from iWeb to EasyWeb. I first tried to copy past the image that was in iWeb with it's refection setting turned on. When I now pasted into EasyWeb I noticed that the refection look distorted and the image and refection had become one image as a whole. I then decided to turn off the reflection in iWeb, copy the image, paste it into EasyWeb, and then turn the reflection on within the EasyWeb settings. This seem to work at first, but I noticed that the reflection didn't have quite the same elegant effect. After comparing them side by I noticed that that iWeb's reflection is a bit longer and seems to blend-in more than it does in EasyWeb. Take a look at the screen shots. Thanks. [b:2ea8k741] Image in iWeb with Reflection set to 50[/b:2ea8k741][/size:2ea8k741] ![]() [b:2ea8k741]Image in EasyWeb with Reflection set to 50 [/b:2ea8k741][/size:2ea8k741] (notice how it seems to be cut short)

| Thread: Tear Away Inspector |
| Since you cannot re-size the "Inspector" column, and for those of us with limited screen space (most of my work is done on a laptop), having a tear-away inspector, as in iWeb, would be useful. |
Show/Hide the inspector by using the WIndow drop down menu or do - option/command/i[/quote:2tdtjyfx] Sometimes (actually, more often than not), it is more convenient to simply have a floating window, rather than constantly hiding/un-hiding it, which can simply be moved around the screen, out of the way of segments of the page on which one is working, kind of like the color and font palettes. To quote Jello Biafra, "Give me convenience, or give me death (though I would rather defer for 'give me a better alternative, as opposed to "death"')." |
When working on a laptop, I find the show/hide window command a lot faster and more convenient than dragging these pesky windows around. Even on a bigger screen it's an irritation and the one thing Apple could have done a long time ago was to enable diminish. That would lessen the aggravation and improve workflow.[/quote:25b25su5] Agreed. However, the reason applications have "Preferences" is so that users can customize the app to conform to the way that they work best. Yes, the windows can be an annoyance at times (and minimizing rather than closing the windows would be nice), but, particularly when developing new software, I think it's best to provide options that potentially will appeal to a larger audience. |
It has already been covered here... http://ragesw.net/easyweb-beta/viewtopic.php?f=5...t=114 ... and here... http://ragesw.net/easyweb-beta/viewtopic.php?f=6...t=280...p=1202...hilit=inspector+show+hide#p1202[/quote:kis1wyh9] Thanks, Roddy. All apologies for my ignorance and missing these posts, consequently cluttering up the board with redundant requests. I only recently began experimenting with EasyWeb and am still getting acclimated to the forum. Nevertheless, I'll endeavor to be more thorough with my forum searches in the future and try not to annoy other members. |
