| Thread: Thoughts on design... |
| Believe the Inspector/Assets/Widgets rectangular boxes on the right are low key, a bit dull, and easy to overlook-especially at first. Could use some color. Same thing goes for the symbols below-they could be colorful, perhaps a little less clunky, and more precise. But that, of course, is a judgment call, as is most design. |

Again, this is a judgment call. The best way I can describe "precise" is by the phrase "less thick." Maybe just a little cartoonish. It may be only due to the fact that right now they're rendered in black/white/gray that Metrics / Hyperlinks /Widget Settings don't seem sharply defined. (With colors added, maybe it won't matter.) Decided to check out the iWeb inspector this morning and compare the two. Take a look at the attachments above and see what you think... From where I sit, the colorful, more precise approach grabs me faster. In fact, completely new to EasyWeb (and neither a conscientious nor diligent reader of instructions) I confess it took me days before I even noticed Inspector, Assets, ... Widgets. That got in my way because I needed Assets well before I found them! Though assets turned out to be important to me, they seemed a little irrelevant, shuffled off to the side. A neglected stepchild! |

Earlier, Roddy, in terms of design, you asked what I meant by "precise." One way to look at it, if you view the button images at the extreme bottom left of the EW page, the page part of the Add Page button and the Media buttons both look to me more precise and vivid than the Colors button which looks slightly thicker and less distinct. This stuff is, of course, all a matter of opinion. Next, you could, for example, take the Page part of the Add Page button, copy it, change the color slightly, and I think it would offer a more eye-catching and sharply-focused effect if it replaced the current black-and-white image up in the Inspector / Page Details section found at the upper right. |

| Yes, it makes sense that at this stage of the things, some of the stuff I work with, including text wrap, kerning, and my passion for colorful little symbols might not be at the top of the EasyWeb agenda. In the short run, I'm more interested in a What you see is what you get result when you first create pages in EasyWeb and them look at them when published. Still, in the long run, I wouldn't mind seeing some of those less vital staples included but I'm not counting on it-there may not be a huge demand for it. |

Hi Guys, Will there be any facility to add scrolling to items such as text boxes and images. |

Agree with Christopher, though for my purposes, even more useful than a grid would be top and side alignment guides (horizontal and vertical lines) that you drag out onto your work area and then, once placed on the page, STAY there until you move them. Ideally, in Preferences, you could assign different colors to the guides if and when the guides disappear due to their being the same color as an image. These guides have been useful to me dozens of times in iWork Pages for lining up text ... images. In fact, I found them so indispensable, I thought that perhaps EasyWeb already had them but I just hadn't yet stumbled on to them, So far, however, all I've found are temporary guides that quickly vanish once you let go of the mouse. |

| Thread: Looks Different On-Line, Spacing Issue? |
| I am having some issues with spacing. What I see when I am working is not always what I see when I view the page on-line. In one case it was the location of the navigation bar. But I think this is a good example. On my EasyWeb page, it looks like like there is a reasonable empty space at the bottom of the page. On the web, the last sentence rolls off the box. |

Here's the compression. Roddy, thanks for the link. You're describing exactly what has happened to me. I'm not sure what the fix is, though. Two text boxes? |

| Thread: Forms and drop down menus |
| Hi there, First day here...Does Easy web support forms, other than just the contact us form? and drop down menus? If so, how do I access them? |

| thank you. Do you know of a form that supports adding photos, as well as name, address, etc? |

| Thread: itemisation / paragraph styles |
|
Two questions/requests: 1.I found no way to do proper itemisation. After entering "1.blala random stuff" and pressing enter iWeb comes up automatically with "2.", just like any word processor. 2.The abilities of a text box are quite limited. It would be nice to have something like paragraph styles. So when I add some text and chose "headline" it would become bold, 14pt e.g., depending on the page template. Also note that the "plain white" template looks clean and good, except the navigation. Those blue links look like standard <a href=""> links. |

1. Of course, but the purpose of using a WYSIWYG app is not to mess with code. And if the average person looks at this program, the person will see something like a word processor. 2. Same as 1. Then I could go back to plain html as well. About the navigation: Yes, but isn't the purpose of using templates to get quick good-looking out-of-the-box experiences/a good start? It's not that I personally dislike the navigation in this template. It's more like it's horrible in general, doesn't even fit the template and therefore should be fixed. Navigation in the other templates is fine, though. |
