| Thread: Text, colors....different published to folder |
|
Earlier in another post, I wrote about red vertical lines extending down below accompanying text blocks-i.e. more in the Safari published version than in original EasyWeb pages. Also that colors were more intense. Began to experiment with rounded rectangles around text boxes, thinking that might give me a temporary workaround. But that presented a new problem. Text did not appear to be the same at times-sometimes a line return would occur at a different word in the Safari version. Nor did the spacing within the rounded rectangle around the text look the same. On looking at the Safari version more closely, it also seemed there was much more space between the paragraphs in Safari. Also the font-Verdana-looked a good bit thicker. I was using Verdana regular but on Safari it looked more like Verdana bold. Incidentally, I created the site from scratch, copy and pasting from iWeb. I wonder if people are running into these issues when they use templates? |

| Thread: Text, colors....different published to folder |
| Decided to go ahead and experiment with one page, using a template instead of working from scratch. Everything worked fine!! Images, fonts, lines, color hues in Safari looked the same as I created them in EasyWeb. For some reason, in some way, I seem to have messed things up when I brought over my old images and text from iWeb. If I can't figure just what I did, I may have to do everything all over again and go the template route. Any ideas? |

Damn! While I'm not having big vertical line problems and text placement problems using the template, the color intensity problem (published site colors much sharper, Verdana font looks thicker) seems to have returned. Maybe I'm not publishing to folder correctly? -I click on the Publish icon at the bottom left of the page, then in the folder I've created on the desktop, click on one of the pages which opens up the site in Safari. Or could the size of the image (photograph) mess things up when I publish? Also am I correct in assuming that you don't need an account to use the Beta-that having an account assumes you've signed up for paid hosting? I ask this because when I click on Publish, I get the message that I "must" sign in to my EasyWeb account. |

Expand on iWeb photo page to incorporate a size adjustment when viewing a single image. Add a feature which a client can accept or reject each individual photo with a customizable button or text menu under each image file number, e.g. accept and reject. When the client is finish making their selections, at the bottom of the last page a send button will email the folder name and each image file number with the clients preference, e.g. accept or reject. This can also be applied to products as well. |

| Would be a great idea if you could also link it to ecommerce for selling your pictures, linking them to file download. |

| Thread: PAGE LAYOUT |
|
Hello, Just tried EasyWeb for the first time. Found an issue, at least for me, in about 5 minutes. I did a search but didn't see anything. With I web I would create my own site. I would start with a blank page. No footer or header. Height set at 100 and width set at 1100. The reason I do that is because I don't want a site where you have to scroll up and down. I like everything to fit on one page. The first issue is the height will not go below 300. Why? Also in iweb once you set your height and width you know the area you're working in. I tried to drag a picture in and when I went to resize it to the left and right edges the page just got bigger. That makes it difficult. Also the screen you're working with is more square. Computers are more widescreen. You should be able to minimize the right portion. I would rather see everything at once. Scrolling side to side is annoying when you're trying to design a page. Again I tried to search for these issues first. Sorry if this was covered already. |

| Thread: EasyWeb Taskbar |
|
When operating on the EasyWeb program, the taskbar all but disappears at the top. No more "File" "Edit" "View" etc. The only item that appears is "EasyWeb" then a bunch of ellipses that repeat all across the top of the taskbar pane. It even overwrites the Apple Date, Time, and Spotlight section. |

| Thread: Text Box Typing Problems & Errors |
|
I'm having trouble with the text box in EasyWeb. First there is a delay in what I am typing (not a problem with any other program, including this forum). Second, As I'm sitting there watching the text slowly show up on the screen on my 12-core 64GB MacPro, the text I'm typing is COMPLETELY different that what I entered! Not only was it jumbled text, it also added line breaks and began capitalizing letters! See screenshot for further details. What about spell check? No red underline of words? |

| Thread: ReUsing Cedric Giger's iWeb FAQ Ebook Content |

Because you're in beta I'm still using iWeb. I've downloaded a beta version of EasyWeb and I'm impressed.... but it's not ready for prime time. It occurs to me that it would be tremendously valuable to know how many of the tips and technuiques from Cedric Giger's book and blog would be applicable to EasyWeb. Have any of you read his ebook, or talked with him about EasyWeb? For instance, he provides a way of creating overflow effects in iWeb that are still hard to find in other dev tools. Is that technique applicable to iWeb? And what about his ecommerce solutions? |

| Thread: File - Open in a new window |
|
[quote="darrendixie123456789":16k2j8tj]Would anyone else find it helpful to enable file download Hyperlinks to open in a new window? I see this option is available when creating a hyperlink to an external page but could it be possible to open files in a new window also? I use this feature to download a PDF for a product brochure. I always find it strange when downloading a brochure for it to not happen in the background or a new window. Having just checked, I see that iWeb is the same but it would be nice to have the option as I feel it is more logical...?[/quote:16k2j8tj] Also find it helpful to enable file download Hyperlinks to open in a new window. The visitor stays on the website if he will close the page, very useful John |

| Thread: Line extends too far down when published |
| Not sure this is a bug-or something I've not yet caught on to. In EW, when I place a thin vertical red line to the left of a text block that's aligned left, the line, which is supposed to be the length of the text block, sometimes extends too far below when I publish it to folder. I suspect it might have something to do with the text block itself but haven't had any luck adjusting things like the inset. I've attached a screenshot... |
