Photographers: sell prints, packages and gift vouchers from your website

You have three good options. Link to a print lab or client-gallery service that prints and ships for you. Add a PayPal or Stripe button next to each print. Or, in EverWeb 4.6 and later with the Contact Forms Enhanced add-on, turn a Contact Form Advanced form into an order form with sizes, paper, framing, shipping and a running total. The order form also works for print packages and gift vouchers.

  • A landscape photographer sells signed prints in three sizes, with a frame option and postage.
  • A family photographer sells print packages from each client's private gallery.
  • A pet photographer sells gift vouchers before Christmas, sent by email or as a printed card.
  • An event photographer sells digital files of each runner through an outside download service.

Set up an order form

You need EverWeb 4.6 or later, the add-on, a Stripe or PayPal Business account, and HTTPS on your website. Full steps: Sell a product with options and extras from your contact form.

  1. Drag Contact Form Advanced onto the page. In Inspector > Widget Settings, choose your add-on in Contact Form Enhanced Add-on and type a Contact Form Name, such as Smith Photography Print Order. Buyers see it at checkout.
  2. In Payments, tick Accept Payments, add your Stripe and/or PayPal details, and choose the Currency, a Total Label, a Tax Rate (%) if you charge tax, and a Payment Unsuccessful Page.
  3. Add priced fields as in the plans below, set Forward To Page to a thank-you page, test with Stripe's test card or PayPal Sandbox (testing), and publish with File > Publish Entire Site.

EverWeb doesn't create voucher codes or track which vouchers are used. When an order arrives marked Paid, make the voucher in your design app with your own number and expiry date, send it, and keep a list. Rules on voucher expiry differ from place to place, so check the ones that apply to you.

What you receive

The order email arrives once payment is confirmed, marked Paid with a Payment Reference, and is stored in your Client Area. An order that's never paid reaches you a few hours later marked Unpaid order. Before you print a large or framed order, check the payment in Stripe or PayPal using the Payment Reference.

Good to know

  • A quantity can't multiply other choices. The Stepper multiplies only its own Unit Price, so "3 framed 16 x 20s" isn't possible in one order. Ask buyers to order each print separately.
  • No stock control. For limited editions, keep your own count, remove a sold-out size and publish again.
  • No shipping calculator. Price your delivery choices as options. The tax rate applies to them too.
  • One-off payments only, one currency per form. Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees, and payments work only on your published website.
