You can move a website made with almost any tool to EverWeb, whether it was built with another website builder, WordPress, an AI tool, or by hand. EverWeb can't import a whole website, so it needs to be rebuilt in EverWeb. You can do this yourself, or we can convert it for you. Your current website stays online until you're ready to switch.
Have us convert your website
Open a support ticket for a no-obligation quote to convert your website to EverWeb. Please include:
- Your website address
- Roughly how many pages it has
- Anything it does beyond ordinary pages, such as a store, a members area, a blog or forms
- What matters most to you, so we can tell you up front how we'll handle it
Rebuilds are affordable, and we do them quickly. You'll see the price before you agree to anything. You'll also need an EverWeb license or an EverWeb + Hosting plan to edit and publish your website. See How much does EverWeb cost, and what's included?
We build from your live website, so you don't need your old program or files. When it's ready, we send you a preview link so you can look it over. Then you get your project file (the editable copy of your website, saved on your computer), and you can update your site in EverWeb whenever you like.
Do it yourself
- Try EverWeb. Download EverWeb for Mac or Windows and try it for free before you buy.
- Choose your page layout. To keep a fixed-width design, use a Centered Layout page, then add a mobile page for phones (see My website looks wrong on a phone). To make your site responsive, use a Responsive page, and learn about Containers and the Allow free dragging option (see Why won't this go where I drag it?).
- Set up a Master Page with your header, footer and menu, so every page shares them.
- Rebuild your pages. Copy your text and images across, page by page, from your live website.
- Add the extras. Use the table below to find EverWeb's version of what your website does.
- Publish with File > Publish Entire Site, then point your domain to your new host.

Switching over without losing anything
- Keep your domain. You can point it to EverWeb Hosting or another host, or transfer it to us.
- Check your email first. Changing your nameservers moves your email too, so plan this before you switch. See My domain, my website, my hosting and my email: who does what?
- Cancel your old service last, once your new website and email are working.
Move your website and email to EverWeb Hosting without downtime has the full steps in order.
