With EverWeb + Hosting, you can create email addresses that use your own domain, such as [email protected]. You can create them in the EverWeb app or on your EverWeb account page (the Client Area). Both do the same thing, and an address made in one shows up in the other.
Before you start
- You need an EverWeb + Hosting plan. EverWeb Standalone doesn't include email.
- The domain must be on your hosting plan. The domain you signed up with is already there. For another domain, add it first: see How can I add additional domains or websites to my hosting account?
- Mail only arrives once your domain points to EverWeb Hosting. That's set by your nameservers (the setting that tells the internet where your website and email live). You can create your addresses first, and then point your domain, so mail has somewhere to go. See Point your domain to EverWeb Hosting (update nameservers / DNS).
- Moving from another email provider? Your existing messages don't move by themselves. Back them up before you change nameservers: see Move your website and email to EverWeb Hosting without downtime. If you use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, contact us before changing anything.
Create an address in EverWeb
- Open your project file and choose File > Edit Publishing Settings.
- Check that Publish To is set to EverWeb and that you're signed in. If you're not, sign in at EverWeb > Settings > Account (Windows: Edit > Options > Account).
- Scroll down to Email Addresses and click Add.
- In the Add Email window, type the part before the @, such as info. If you have more than one domain, choose the right one from the menu after the @.
- Type a password of at least 8 characters in Password and Confirm Password, then click Create.
Your new address appears in the list. You can also watch the video.
Or create it on your EverWeb account page
- Sign in to the Client Area.
- Go to Services > My Services and click your hosting plan.
- Under Manage Account, click Email Accounts.
- Click Create Email Account, enter the address and a password, and save.
Keep your email password safe
Each address has its own password. It isn't your EverWeb account password. Write it down somewhere safe, because we can't show it to you later. If you forget it, you can set a new one: see How do I change or reset my email password?
Next: read and send your mail
- In a web browser: go to
yourdomain.com/webmail, using your own domain, and sign in with the full email address and its password. See How can I check my email online? - In Apple Mail, Outlook or another app on your computer: see Email settings for Apple Mail, Outlook, Gmail and other apps (IMAP, POP, SMTP).
- On an iPhone or iPad: see How to set up your EverWeb email on an iPhone or iPad.
How much mail each address can hold
A new address can hold 250MB of mail (its mailbox limit, called Email Quota). You can raise it under Email Accounts in the Client Area. All your addresses and your website share your plan's storage, so a bigger mailbox limit doesn't add space. See How can I add more file space to my email accounts?
Your plan also sets how many addresses you can create:
| Plan | Email addresses |
|---|---|
| EverWeb + Hosting 2GB (Hosting Lite) | 5 |
| EverWeb + Hosting 10GB (Hosting Pro) | 25 |
| EverWeb + Hosting 25GB | 50 |
To compare all plans, including larger ones, see the pricing page. If you need more addresses, you can move to a bigger plan.
If it doesn't work
- No mail is arriving: check that your nameservers point to EverWeb Hosting. A change can take up to 48 hours, but usually finishes within 6, depending on your internet provider (ISP).
- Your mail app says your password is wrong: check you're using the email password, not your EverWeb account password, and the full email address as the username.
- Still stuck? Contact us with the address you created and a screenshot of any error.
