Both give you the same EverWeb app for designing your website. The difference is where your website lives. EverWeb Standalone ($89.95 USD once) publishes to a web host you already have. EverWeb + Hosting (from $99.95 USD a year) puts your website and email on our servers, so the software, hosting, email and support all come from one place.

Want members-only pages on any host? Membership Sites adds logins and paid members areas, on Mac and Windows.
Choose EverWeb Standalone if
- You already have web hosting and email you're happy with, for example at GoDaddy or IONOS.
- You'd like to pay once.
Check that your host lets you publish by FTP, FTPS or SFTP. Most do.
Choose EverWeb + Hosting if
- You don't have hosting yet, or you'd like one company for your software, hosting, domain and email. When something goes wrong, one support team can see all of it.
- You want phone support, both Mac and Windows, or password-protected folders and redirects.
- You'd rather not deal with FTP details.

Can I change my mind later?
- From Standalone to EverWeb + Hosting: yes, you can upgrade from your EverWeb account page (the Client Area). The price difference shows before you pay. See How can I upgrade from the Standalone version to the EverWeb + Hosting version?
- From EverWeb + Hosting to another host: move your website and email first, because they go offline when your hosting ends. You get an EverWeb Standalone license that covers EverWeb up until the day your hosting account ended, so you can keep any version released while your account was active and publish to another host.
