When you add title tags and meta tags it takes time for Google to update their search index. It is not instant. It may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for Google and other search engines to update their index. It depends on the popularity of your site and when Google feels the need to visit your site again.
You should create an XML sitemap file which may speed up this process. XML Sitemaps tell search engines about your site and how often to come back and look for new content. It may help speed up this process.
