iWeb SEO Tool times out when publishing to my FTP server.

Your upload may time out for the following reasons;

1) You have selected the Secure checkbox but you do not have a secure FTP connection. This is the most common case. Unless your web host has told you that you have a secure FTP connection, do not select this box. Most FTP servers will not have a secure connection.

2) You have entered the wrong directory path. Remember, your directory path is the location on your server where your website files are stored. If you do not know what this is, ask your web hosting provider as we cannot help you with this. If you are using RAGE Web hosting then you should enter public_html. If you are using another hosting servers like Godaddy, please contact them and ask them what your default directory path for your website files is.

3) It appears that some file names with strange characters can affect your upload. Remember, all website file names should only contain letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. Never use other characters like comma's, question marks, dollar signs etc... This may not only affect uploading your site, but it may also cause other issues for your visitors.
