I don't see my meta tags on my iWeb website after publishing with iWeb SEO Tool.

There are a few reasons why you won't see meta data on your site;

1) You republished your website with iWeb which overwrites all files on your server. You must only publish your site using iWeb SEO Tool.

2) You did not add meta tags to each page. Meta tags must be applied to each individual page. Please note that your index.html is NOT your main page for your iWeb site. It just redirects you to your main page which is usually Home.html or Welcome.html. It can be a different name if your renamed your main page in iWeb.

3) You are forwarding your domain using domain masking. This means that the URL path at the top of your browser doesn't change as you navigate to different pages on your site. You need to use CNAME forwarding WITHOUT domain masking. If you don't do this only one page on your site can be listed in search engines and your visitors will not be able to bookmark specific pages on your site. Email your web host to make this change.

4) You published your website to the wrong directory on your FTP server. Make sure you publish to the directory containing your original HTML files otherwise your changes will never be seen. If you do not know what directory contains your HTML files (also known as your root directory), please email the company that provides you with web hosting. We cannot provide you with these details, only your web host can help you with this.

If you are using RAGE Web Hosting, then enter public_html/

For all other web hosts you must contact them and ask them what your root directory is.
