A trade website has one main job: get the phone ringing or a quote request in, from people nearby, often on a phone in a hurry. It also needs to show your work and why you can be trusted. In EverWeb you can add a tap-to-call button that stays on screen, a quote form that takes photos of the job, before-and-after pictures, and in EverWeb 4.6 and later, signed quotes and deposits.
Who uses this
- A plumber's customers send a photo of the leak with their quote request, so he knows which parts to bring.
- A landscaping company shows before-and-after photos of each garden it has built.
- A kitchen fitter gets the quote accepted and signed online, with a deposit paid by card.
- An emergency electrician keeps a Call now button on screen as visitors scroll.
Features marked (add-on) need the Contact Forms Enhanced add-on. Signatures and payments also need EverWeb 4.6 or later. See What is the Contact Forms Enhanced Add-on?

EverWeb features that help
Tap-to-call, always in reach
Link a button to tel: and your number with the country code, such as tel:+14165550100, so a tap on a phone starts the call. Tick Fixed position to keep it on screen while visitors scroll. See How to link to another page, a website, an email address, a phone number, a PDF, or a section of a page and Keep a header, menu or button on screen while visitors scroll (Fixed Position).
A quote form that gets the details
Use Image Select for the type of job, so customers tap a picture, the Address field for where the job is, and a Text Area to describe it. With the add-on, a File Upload field takes a photo of the job (add more than one if you want several photos), and Calendar lets them suggest a date. If the form gets long, split it into pages with Step Break. See Build a custom form: quote requests, registrations and file uploads.
Signed quotes and deposits (add-on)
Send customers to a page with a form that shows the quote reference, a Consent tick box for your terms, their typed name, a Date and a Signature. A priced Radio Button can add a fixed deposit, paid on Stripe's or PayPal's own checkout page; the form reaches you marked Paid. Rules for electronic signatures differ by country and by document, so check that a signature on a web form is enough for your contracts. Never ask for card or bank details in a form field. See Get agreements, contracts and consent forms signed online and Take bookings and deposits with your contact form.
Before and after
The Flip Card widget shows the "before" photo on one side and the "after" on the other when tapped. A Responsive Image Gallery works for a larger set of jobs. See Add a slideshow to your website: Image Slider, Carousel, Slide Show Fill or a gallery.
Where you work
A shape with its Fill set to Map shows your base or service area. List the towns you cover as text too: search engines read text, not maps. See Add a Google Map to your website.
Reviews
A short feedback form with a Star Rating collects comments after each job. Ask before you publish a customer's words or name on your website. See Collect feedback, reviews and survey answers with ratings.
Fast on a phone
Most people looking for a trade are on a phone. Resize photos before adding them and tick Export Optimized Images. See Make your website load faster.
Getting found locally
Give each page a Web Page Title that says what and where, such as "Emergency plumber in Leeds", and keep your phone number and hours the same on your website and your Google Business Profile. Set a Social Media Image so shared links show your work. See Why can't people find my website on Google? and Choose the picture and text shown when someone shares your page on Facebook, iMessage or LinkedIn.
Knowing what works
Website Stats (EverWeb + Hosting) or Google Analytics show how many people visit and where they come from. See See how many people visit your website: Website Stats and Google Analytics.
The padlock
Forms and payments should go over HTTPS. See My site says 'Not Secure': how to get HTTPS (SSL) on your website.
