Try these in order. Most cases are fixed by step 1 or 2.
1. Look at your site in a private window. Your browser may be showing a saved copy. Open a private or incognito window and go to your site by typing the address yourself. If it looks right there, your site is fine, and other people see the new version. Clear your browser cache to see it in your normal window.
2. Use Publish Entire Site. The Publish button sends only what EverWeb thinks has changed. Go to File > Publish Entire Site, wait for it to finish, then check again.
3. Reset EverWeb's publishing memory. Go to EverWeb > Settings on a Mac, or Edit > Options on Windows > Backup > Manage Cache Files > Publish Cache. Select your website and choose Move To Trash. The next publish will send the entire site.
4. Did you just change hosting or nameservers? Your domain may still point to the old server. This can take up to 48 hours, but usually clears within 6, depending on your internet provider (ISP). See Point your domain. Until then you may see your old site or an error.
5. Check where you are publishing. Go to File > Edit Publishing Settings.
- On EverWeb Hosting: check that Publish To says EverWeb, and Domains shows the right website. If you have several sites, this matters.
- On another host: check that Directory/Path is the one your host gave you. Hosts sometimes change it. It is often
public_html,htmlorwww. - Subdirectory should be empty unless you want the site at
yourdomain.com/something.
6. Check you are opening the right address. A Google result or a bookmark may lead to an old page. Pages you deleted stay online until removed.
Still the old version?
Send us your website address, what you expected to change, and a screenshot of File > Edit Publishing Settings.
