This usually happens after you update macOS while an older version of EverWeb is still on your Mac. Your Mac may say:
- "You can't open the application "EverWeb" because it may be damaged or incomplete."
- "EverWeb is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."
The EverWeb icon may also have a line through it.
Your websites are safe. Installing EverWeb again does not touch your projects.
How to fix it
- Quit EverWeb if it's open.
- Go to the EverWeb download page and download the macOS version.
- Open the downloaded file and drag EverWeb into your Applications folder. If your Mac asks, choose Replace.
- Open EverWeb from your Applications folder. If you kept an old icon in your Dock, remove it and add the new one.
If your Updates & Support plan has ended
The latest version won't publish until you renew your plan. You can download the latest version your plan covers instead, but it may not run on your version of macOS. If it doesn't, you'll need to renew to get a version that does.
If your Mac says "unidentified developer"
Install the latest version as above. If you still see the message, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Still not working?
Contact us with your EverWeb and macOS versions, and a screenshot of the message.
