Thread: RAGE vs other host
I'm okay with everything but the 2 gb of storage. Should be at least 5g. However, I would like to see 20gb like Mobile Me had for $99. If you have more than a couple sites with images 2gb is not going to cut it.

Where do you find the price structure for using Rage software for website building. I had the understanding a person could buy the software, build their website and upload it to the hosting company they already have an account with and go from their. Before I get involved in learning this, I want to make sure it is useable for my needs going forward.

Thread: RAGE vs other host
I've been using Rage since Apple dropped Mobile Me. The transfer was pretty easy once the geeks at Rage spoke English to me (LOL). I moved my domain from Yahoo and the site all at one time. I was able to use iWeb and was the main reason I switched. I went with Rage because so much of what they do is Apple based. I signed up for a three year deal and have never looked back. My questions are answered very quickly, and when you're a novice that's important.

I understand providing phone support is far too expensive at the $99-a-year rate.

If paid support, where you pay a fee for one to three years' phone support is also not an option for the same reason, then at least a comprehensive, thorough, detailed manual (or book printed on demand at Amazon ) written in a third-grade style for the non-tekkies among us like me would be, I think, indispensable. (The transcripts of the videos are a great example of keeping things simple.)

Many people learn best by watching videos. There are many others like me who learn best by reading, at times combined with doing.

A comprehensive, easy to read manual could save time and money and replace a lot of the lengthy back and forth of tech-support emails.

p.s. Apple never did produce much in the way of a good manual for iWeb. I did, however, find Steve Sande's Take Control of iWeb (published by TidBITS), well-written and easy-to-read. Also useful... 92-pages... Occasionally I've found small sections of his manual helpful when using EasyWeb. I downloaded it a while ago for around $15 on Amazon.

Thread: Random hyperlinks colours
When previewing in Google Chrome, the hyperlinks appear in random colours, red, yellow etc, on the same page. Checked all the hyperlinks colours and they are all identical, that does not happen when previewing in Safari

Yes, this is still being worked on. We're hoping to release it sometime in December. It will be available for free.

Thread: Display navigation menu or not
It would be good to have the option to display the navigation menu or not, as in iWeb. For example, the first page of my website only refers to the French version of the site or the English one, and no navigation menu is displayed on it. Or is there that option and I am missing it?

OK thanks I did not realise I can just delete it on a particular page ... what if I change my mind and want it back?

Thread: Rolling "News" or "Blog" page
I think I may be being a bit dim here - but I can't work out how to add text or pictures or Youtube widget etc in a way that the items will move down the page when I want to add an update above (so the latest update is at the top of the page).
At the moment when I press the return key, the text us just running under the images or widgets, which remain stationary. I did manage to get this to work in iWeb, but it was a bit tricky.

I am trying to do something like this News page, adding updates at the top http://www.eastbarnetvets.com/East_Barn ... /News.html

Thanks

[quote="pumpkin":13l0vrtd]Hit shift+cmd+L to see the layout. Then just use your mouse to select everything that you want to move down, hit shift+downarrow or use the mouse to drag it down as far as needed.[/quote:13l0vrtd]

Thanks pumpkin - I didn't know about highlighting ... moving everything done at once - a great tip, I will try that! A good tip!

Thanks

Thread: Browser Preview
I have started using the Browser Preview facility in Easyweb, but only seem to have the option to view in Safari - how do I get preview in other browsers?
