| Thread: Website description |

I know I'm a bit late to comment on this subject, but Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is more my area of expertise. Google basically scans your website after it has detected a change. This can take between 2hrs - 28days. When it crawls your site, whatever information it finds is there version of current, so eventually the old info will disappear and the new info will overwrite. There is no guarantee you will still be in #1 spot, but the beauty of google is that no one really knows how it works, everything really is speculation and trial ... error along with a large dose of Patience. Further, it's a good exercise to frequently delete your search history. The google browser knows what you generally look for and what sites you frequent, which in turn puts those choices to the top for you, but maybe not others. It can be sore to see your site drop, but it is accurate and then you know what to work for. Lastly, if you retain the top spot, remember, someone somewhere will always work harder to knock you off. It's a constant job and a constant game. Late, but I hope it helps. |

| Thread: Opacity Slider Works Backwards |
| When using the Opacity Slider 0 is full while 100 is transparent. It should be the other way around or I should say that is how it works in iWeb and Photoshop... |

| Thread: Change Background Color Fill while Image File is Selected |
|
ADD THIS FEATURE PLEASE! As a feature request I would like to still be able to change the Browser Background "Color Fill" even while "Image Fill" is selected. I want to be able to choose a Color Fill that matches the color of the Image Fill. This Color Fill will now be behind the Image Fill. The reason for this is that devices with a slower connection take longer to load the background image. For instance my background image is mostly dark-blue so while the page is loading there will be an ugly white background while the page is loading and during that time it also leaves my text unreadable because my text is also white. Even if the background loads fast it will still show a bright flash of white while browsing through the site which is really annoying when you have a dark-blue background. You need to have a matching color fill behind your background image for comfortable browsing. In order for me to get around this in iWeb I need to edit the rgb code for the background color in the html file of each page using "Search ... Replace"; which is a real pain. I would hate to have to go through the same thing with EasyWeb. |

The way you have it here http://roddymckay.com/EasyWeb/windmill.html is exactly what I am talking about, but without the .backstretch. I tried putting <style> body {background: red;} </style> in the header. The only problem is that the color fill then covers up the background image. Wow, I love the ability to be able to add these codes though! Great feature! |
You would need to do this... body { background: #FF0000; background-image: url('..file path to the background image'); margin: 0px auto; } [/quote:ke83uppi] For some reason this code doesn't work for me. It just puts the text at the top of the page. Even if it did work it wouldn't be to practical because I wouldn't be able to see the way my site looks until I Publish it. If you could somehow enable a way to do this within EasyWeb that would be best. |
Quote: Wow, I love the ability to be able to add these codes though! Great feature! This is what puts EasyWeb way out in front of the competition. We haven't seen too many examples of users taking advantage of it. Perhaps you can show them how? What I like about it is the fact that I can use drag and drop for the basic stuff like text and images and then use code injection for custom h1, h2 etc (mainly for the search engines) and other custom stuff like navigation, sliders, movies etc.[/quote:1hcuy3zv] Yes this feature definitely puts EasyWeb way out in front of the competition. I sure will use it for it in many ways! Thank you! |

| Thread: Issue With Background Image |
[b:v1kfze4x]Currently on my iWeb site I am using an Image File selected for my Browser Background.[/size:v1kfze4x][/b:v1kfze4x]![]() [b:v1kfze4x] In iWeb the Image File will be stretched, centered, and scroll up and down with the page[/size:v1kfze4x][/b:v1kfze4x] ![]() [b:v1kfze4x]In EasyWeb I tried doing the same thing.[/size:v1kfze4x][/b:v1kfze4x] ![]() But in EasyWeb the Image File seems to be Left Aligned and will not scroll up and down with the page. It will remain in the same place.[/size:v1kfze4x] ![]() I need to be able to make it the same way that it is in iWeb. Easyweb should add the "Stretch", "Scale to Fit", "Scale to Fill", "Original Size", and "Tile" options to the Browser Background section in the same way they are available for Page Background section. Thank you! [/size:v1kfze4x] |

One suggestion though. You might want to include this code -webkit-background-size: 100% 100% ; in the next beta for iPad and iPhone users because if it is not there the background image will shrink. I added it to the Head Code section and it worked, but it might be nice to have already pre-programed since many people use iPad and iPhones. iPad Without -webkit-background-size: 100% 100% ; ![]() iPhone Without -webkit-background-size: 100% 100% ; ![]() iPad with -webkit-background-size: 100% 100% ; ![]() iPhone with -webkit-background-size: 100% 100% ;

| Okay, I understand. It has been working for my site though. I guess because of the design. Our site is http://emmanuel.tv we are a Christian TV station. We built the site with iWeb and iTweak. |
