| Thread: Hosting Options |
|
As a user of a widely known hosting provider, I wanted to help beta test "Easy Web", but at first glance I will not be able to publish my sites to my current provider. I currently lost a hard drive, so recreating the sites from scratch is necessary now. THANK YOU iWEB for your ackward backup. (I elected not to use my backup copy of my computer's hard drive to start over with a clean install.) I was able to gather everything but the site files from my backup. Back to topic, what plans are there to allow publishing to a generic FTP server? It isn't feasible to purchase a hosting package and redirect all the nameservers to try the software out. Actually it isn't possible to test anything but the user interface without uploading, a drag and drop web designer's accuracy in properly writing the code and browser compatibility would seem to be of utmost importance in beta testing. Any ideas? Did I overlook something? Thanks, TODD |

Paul is looking for the EasyWeb file. Which is found in the library->Application Support->EasyWeb (If you are running Mountain Lion click on the desktop then use the "GO" menu ... hold the "option" key to reveal the finder) |

| Would it be possible to give the site the "site name" instead of the number might make it a little easier to sort out sites for people with multiple sites. |

| Thread: EasyWeb Beta 11 |
|
I really like the improvements I've run across so far. I was wondering if any work I do on this version will work with the final version? I don't want to spend too much time with the program if I'd have to start from scratch in the final. Also, one thing I always hated about iWeb was that you couldn't easily move your site between computers as a document - everything was self-contained within the copy of iWeb and basically unable to share without cracking open the package contents.. Will this be something EasyWeb corrects eventually? |

Here's an older video (I did for iWeb) showing how to get to the Library in Lion/Mountain Lion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D87w67lfOVU |

| Thread: Page Drop Shadow |
| As it currently stands, the drop shadow for the page only exists on the left and right. This looks odd, please add support for a drop shadow that goes all the way around the page border. |

| Thread: Images and Assets |
|
[quote="Roddy":bgdxnnjc]This has caught me out a couple of times and raised the inevitable question mark in the thought bubble that floats above my head. When an image is added to Assets it appears under Images. If the image is used in an HTML Widget it appears in the ewExternalFiles folder, and not the Images folder, in the published files. Its kind of illogical that the image doesn't get to be listed in the External Files section of the right hand sidebar in EasyWeb. To be fair the problem was created by me uploading only the new files - rather than all of them - and shouldn't present a problem if/when EasyWeb was/is capable of doing this. Still and all, it doesn't make sense to me and this image should help to illustrate the point... Thanks Roddy, All faults were my error and all fixed. My only question now is that I thought I had published to FTP having signed in. I can 'View Site Now', but when I go online on another device, it's my old iWeb site that is still there. Have I missed a tick box somewhere? (Hosting is with RageSW). |
