Error: "EverWeb is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated"

If you open EverWeb and macOS shows a message such as:

"EverWeb is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated" or "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS"

you are using a very old version of EverWeb. Download the latest version from the EverWeb Downloads page and use it to replace the copy in your Applications folder. Your projects open in the new version.

Very old versions of EverWeb were 32-bit apps. macOS 10.14 Mojave warns about 32-bit apps, and macOS 10.15 Catalina and later can't open them at all. The current version of EverWeb works on macOS 10.14 Mojave through the latest macOS. If your Mac runs an older version of macOS, the Downloads page also lists older versions of EverWeb that work with it.
