Point your domain to EverWeb Hosting (update nameservers / DNS)

Nameservers tell the internet where your website and email live. To use EverWeb Hosting with a domain, you change them at the company where you bought the domain. You don't have to move the domain to us.

Your email moves too. When nameservers change, your domain's email starts going through EverWeb. Before you change them, publish your site and set up your email. If you use Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or another email service, tell us first so we can keep your mail records in place.

1. Find your nameservers

They are in the Welcome to EverWeb email, and in your client area under Services > My Services when you click your hosting plan. There are two, and they look like ns123.ragesw.com. Use yours, not an example.

2. Change them

Domain with another company (GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Namecheap and so on): sign in to your account there, find Nameservers or DNS settings for the domain, and replace the entries with your two. Or ask their support to do it.

Domain registered with us: go to Domains > My Domains, click the domain, open Nameservers, enter yours and save. If you don't see the domain listed, it isn't registered with us.

3. Wait

This can take up to 48 hours, but it usually finishes within 6. It depends on your internet provider (ISP). You can't speed this up, and neither can we.

While it updates, you may see your old site, or a message like "can't find server". Other people may see the new site before you do. Check in a private browser window.

If your site should use HTTPS, you may see a security warning for up to 24 hours. That clears by itself.

Still not working after 48 hours?

  • Check there are no typing mistakes, and that the old nameservers are gone.
  • Some companies have a "default" or "parked" option that must be switched to "custom".
  • Send us your domain name and a screenshot of your nameserver settings. We can check it for you.

Adding DNS records for another service

If you need to add records for Mailchimp, Google, Apple and so on, send support the exact records. Once your nameservers point to us, your records are managed here.
