What are Nameservers and how do I update them?

If your domain name is held with another company (such as GoDaddy, Register.com or Network Solutions), you need to update your nameservers so that they "point" to our servers.

Nameservers are two simple addresses that look something like this. Yours may have a different number after the ns part, and they are in the Welcome to EverWeb email we sent you:

ns15.ragesw.com
ns16.ragesw.com

When someone types your domain into their web browser, or sends you an email, the nameservers send them to your website and email on our server. Every domain company lets you update your nameservers in their control panel, or you can contact them and ask them to do it for you.

A nameserver update can take up to 48 hours, but usually finishes within 6, depending on your internet provider (ISP). While it is updating, your domain may still point to your old server, so you won't see the changes you publish to our servers.
