Need some advise on slow upload

My site is large and we have to go out of the country in about a week for three months. We will be in an area where internet is slow – rationed to about double modem speed. Since at this point, even with changing one blog entry I can wait over a half hour for all the file checking with upload, this is going to be impossible from there. So, if there isn't a beta version by then that allows simple changed-file replacement, can someone give me some tips on what to do. Obviously I would have to publish to folder and then simply replace changed files. But I sure could use some information as to if any other files might need to be updated – CSS files, etc. Thanks for any assistance… |

If you are simply updating text and perhaps an image on one page, there's not much to upload. Upload the HTML file for that page and perhaps the text styles.css in the ew_css folder if you have added any new styles. Images can be found in two locations depending on how you inserted them into the page. Images dragged onto the page will be in the Images folder - the main one or the one in any directory folder depending on the page location. Images inserted using a widget or HTML snippet will be in the ewExternalFiles folder. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Thanks. Looks like something I can handle. Comparing files in folders and dates should help. At least now I know where to begin looking. Thanks again. | |

Look at the announcements forum for EverWeb 1.6 beta which focuses on improving publishing times.
