Viewing Professional websites?

Professional websites?

User: Milo L. 9 years ago
Okay, getting a feel that this program is made for DIY amateur website building and not for professional use? Are there any examples of professional websites built with Everweb?

If you go to page 2 of this General Discussion forum, there is a thread titled Show off your site, or similar. There are all kinds of interesting websites there built using EW

Thanks, I saw those. Not seeing any professional websites in there. Everweb has potential but so far I'm seeing amateur design. Re-building my websites is a lot of work and I need to know Everweb can do what I need. Master Pages in Everweb is near genius and drag-n-drop is the future. No more HTML and CSS. It needs to be easy like Pinterest...Google Plus...Facebook. Flash is old and unwanted. Slideshows are backwards and these widgets don't look professional.

Our Customer Sites page shows a bunch of websites made by users in EverWeb.

Milo, what exactly do you mean by 'professional websites'? I'm assuming you are referring to the design of the site? Any website can be made in EverWeb. Professional or amateur. http://www.everwebapp.com was made using EverWeb.

EverWeb 1.7 will contain a few new themes that are more professional. We're also working on some new features that will add to the professionalism of websites.

For the websites that you are rebuilding, are you planning on rebuilding the exact design, or do you plan on re-doing the websites completely?

I do not understand either. To me a professional website is a website for business. Everyone has their own eye and create what they want to create hoping others will like it.
I will add that each time I have been told to go look at 'this cool professional site', I find them to be purposely design to trap me in the site and I find them to be a waste of time.
So, it really comes down to what you like.

Design, colors that work together, fonts that look great and show up the same in most browsers, images that aren't blurry, images that can be shared individually to site like Pinterest and Houzz. Like Joey's site. I'd like to see the professional design rules used with Everweb. Before I spend countless hours testing.

You need to do all these things when designing and building your website. EverWeb can't do it for you!

Roddy, stop answering people with attitude and answer the questions. You're making their company look bad. Can Everweb perform?????? Can you make a professional website like www.joeyl.com ?????? http://www.joeyl.com

Roddy, your site breaks all the rules of design. I hope you have a better example?
Everweb is selling itself as a website builder. Yes. But can it build a proper professional website that doesn't scare away clients? More than slideshows and items from 1990 website building. Many of us need exactly what I'm asking for. I don't have time to be the test guinea pig. !00's of thousands of professionals are just like me. We want Everweb. We can't afford to wait though. I appreciate your hard work Everweb.

i stumbled upon this conversation and took a look at the Joey Site and i am pretty sure that Milo is talking about style and color and should not plan to use a theme and simply start with a blank page. He then can use about any color or style he wants. I did not see any thing so special about the structure of the site that is not possible in EW.
User: Milo L. 9 years ago
Well on the Joeyl site you can pin his images to share. They do pop open a slideshow but it's clean and shows the photos large and clear.
If your images aren't tagged and can't be shared one by one, then your site is near worthless to search engines. So far EW is making photos grouped into 1 image once published. These are necessary elements for business websites. We need our clients to see great images and share them in social networking sites. Slideshows that move and act similar to Flash are useless for image based business websites. Too many widgets and contraptions just makes a mess of a website. That's an easy design fix. Fonts, easy. Layout, easy. Templates are fine for design ideas. But having hundreds of images displayed professionally is life or death for a business website

Just came across this thread and can't help the feeling that the OP is just here to gripe. If Everweb doesn't suit your needs, why not look elsewhere? Kudos to Roddy et al for remaining polite & pleasant in replies.

Gilly F., not at all. I'm here for the product! The marketing is aimed at the professional business person. Everweb is excellent and I'm pointing out what areas don't work that I know are crucial for business websites. If the product can perform at this higher level, then great! This company is doing a great job with Everweb. I gave an example of a young photographer's website that is a perfect model. JoeyL Joey L is EXTREMELY successful and has always maintained an amazing online presence. His artistic eye is represented well through his website. Website design 101 should be suggested for every person building a site. A functional website is equally crucial.
I asked for examples and asked how to fix some issues.
Your answer again is a non answer. In fact you are doing a disservice to this software maker by answering with go purchase from the competition!?
