I'm trying to change the name servers on my domain at GKG.com. In order to do that, I have to provide an ip address. What is the ip address I should use? John Engberg |

Hi John, Are you sure you are changing the name servers and not the A records? You shouldn't need an IP address but I have seen some registrars require it, even though it is not needed. I just want to confirm you are changing the write thing. Your IP address is dependent on the server you are on. I just want to point that out for other people who may find this thread so that they don't use the wrong IP address. Your IP address should be; 192.138.16.80 ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

This is probably a stupid question, but is this ip good irrespective of where I am working, or what computer I am working on? For example, I am working at home now. Next week, I will be working on a different computer at our church. John Engberg |

Here's some more info for you, Paul. The server info for our domain - fpcinv.org is as follows. The ip is 64.90.51.197. The server location is Brea, CA (USA). The ISP is New Dream Newwork, LLC John Engberg |

The IP address is always the same. It has nothing to do with what computer you use, just what server your domain points to. The server is ours and it doesn't change. Hope that makes sense to you. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Hi John, Sorry I couldn't provide your name servers before because I was answering from my phone and couldn't look up your account. Your name servers should be set to; NS100.RAGESW.COM NS101.RAGESW.COM Quote: Just to be clear, is it Rage Web Hosting? RAGE Web Hosting is just the name of one of our web hosting services. If you want to learn more about name servers you can do so from our quick tutorial here. When you signed up for EverWeb + Hosting we sent you an email with the subject 'Welcome to EverWeb....'. That was what I was referring to in my previous post. Last edit 11 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Thank you, Paul. I kew the names of the name servers, I just needed the name of the host. GKG requires you to enter the name of the new host before they will let you change the name servers. So my new host is Rage Web Hosting, my ip is 192.138.16.80, and my name servers are ns100ragesw.com and ns101ragesw.com. Now I should be able to change my name servers at GKG. John Engberg p.s. I've checked the box to receive email notifications of replies, but I'm not getting them, Also even though I check "remember me" when I log in, it never happens. |
