Setting up a downloadable PDF on site?

My first visit. Hi Gang. I'm an old iWeb fan, created numerous websites with it. Am now moving to EverWeb. My first EverWeb being done today. I'm a filmmaker. This will be a site to promote a film. I have an EPK (electronic press kit) in the form of a PDF. I want to be able to send interested parties to the website where they will be able to download the EPK/PDF. It's about 25 megs in size. Too big for emails. I'm wondering how I could set it up in EverWeb so whoever visits the site can easily download it, or download it with a password? Is such a thing possible? Looks like a great app, EverWeb … my only first discomfort was not being able to extend the spacing between text letters, something that can be done in iWeb, and something that often lends to an easier readability on sites. Just wondering if I am missing something, if there IS a way to do it in EverWeb, or if there is a reason it isn't there in EverWeb? All the best, Ben |

Create a zip of your PDF - either by using "Compress" in the Finder file menu or, better still, create a PC compatible zip using Yemu Zip Drag the zip into the EW Assets list. Create a text or image link, choose "Link to: A File" in the Link inspector and use the Choose button to browse to the zip and select it. Letter spacing isn't enabled in EverWeb as yet. In terms of readability, the browser default spacing is usually best since increasing/decreasing the spacing can actually cause problems for those with reading difficulties. If text is difficult to read the choice of font family, size, color and background color should be reconsidered. Is there a way to create a .pdf page on my site? Maybe with a print option? (Some artists use this for their tear sheet option. ------------------------------- ♥︎ Everweb ♥︎ ---------------------- www.miridoro.com |

I'm not sure what you mean by this. You can open PDFs in a new browser window from a hyperlink and then the visitor can print from their browser File menu. See the third example on this page… http://everwebcodebox.com/widgets-2/new-window.html ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
