Publishing?

User: Phil C. 10 years ago
Hi,

Trying to publish my site via the "FTP Server" in publishing using CyberDuck to > Directnic hosting service. Can anyone help...And is CyberDuck still necessary? Unfortunately Directnic doesn't do weekend tech support. :-(

-Thanks

You need to publish to a local folder and then upload the files with your FTP application.

When I try to "Publish" the only screen pop-up I get is is the Site Publishing Settings, which does not allow me to publish to a folder of my choice. It has Publish To: (EverWeb which is greyed out). How do you do this as I would like the site hosted elsewhere?

Roddy, I've got the site published to a folder on my HD, when you say "your FTP application" are you referring to Cyberduck - or the like? ... or as posted the Beta Everweb version 1.3 will by-pass the need for Cyberduck etc. is that correct?

@ Leandro Z. - You need to purchase a license and sign in to your account via preferences or the Site Publishing Settings page before you can have the option of publishing to a local folder.

@ Phil C. - Cyberduck is an FTP application although I prefer to use Yummy (or Yummy Lite) which allows me to see both the local and remote files in the same window.
The latest Beta has the option to publish direct from EverWeb. This is not a method I would ever use since I like to run my files through an optimizer before uploading to the server…
