Publishing directly to another hosting service

User: Carol Ann L. 10 years ago
I thought I read that there is an update to the stand-alone versions of EverWeb that will allow me to publish directly to GoDaddy (or any other hosting service). I currently have to publish through CyberDuck and although it works, it is an extra, un-needed step. Did I read this correctly or is it wishful thinking?

I purchased a stand alone. If I download this beta version, how will that affect my software. Should I wait for an upgrade?

Hi Carol,

The beta version is the next release of EverWeb but it is still in testing. It won't affect your current software, you can use them both (though you shouldn't use them both at the same time)

I recommend you wait for the official release because it has not been fully tested and may still have issues.

Basically you can try it at this point at your own risk.

I have a question about publishing. I usually publish to a Folder and then to the server via Cyberduck, even when my website is hosted by you. The reason for that is that there are certain files that I can not add to EW... For example some WOW Slider slideshows.... Is there a workaround I am missing or is this the only way? I don't mind publishing via Cyberduck but am curious...

You don't really have to do that if your WOW Slider files are already published once. EverWeb won't overwrite them. You should publish directly from EverWeb now.

But there is a built in Image Slider. You should use that, unless there is a specific feature in WOW Slider that you are using.

Yes, there is. I use both WOW Slider and Image Slider - but for different sites and purposes....It is good to know that the files will not be overwritten...Thank you!
Love EverWeb!
