Viewing Social Media Image checkbox not working

Social Media Image checkbox not working

User: Daniel B. 10 years ago
Choosing the social media image using the check box has not worked for me once.

When I post the URL to Facebook, it does't use the image I've selected.

Thank you,

What is your website URL?

How did you publish your website? Through EverWeb or to a folder?

Thanks, Paul.

The latest example is here:

http://worldrecordsbooks.com/pedagogy.html

We publish through Everweb. This is an add-on domain.

Thank you!

You can test your social image on Facebook's Developer Page.

See the error they reported for your image here;

og:image was not defined, could not be downloaded or was not big enough. Please define a chosen image using the og:image metatag, and use an image that's at least 200x200px and is accessible from Facebook. Image 'http://worldrecordsbooks.com/images/pedagogy/Sunflower-Education-logo-6.png' will be used instead. Consult http://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/crawler for more troubleshooting tips.

Thanks, Paul. I appreciate the insight. Thank you for the link to the Facebook Dveloper Page.

However, I still don't understand what the problem is.

The image I selected is: Amazing-World-Records-Science-Technology-Book-Cover.png

When I open it from the assets, Everweb has renamed it to: shape_pic-16.png

When I "Open with Preview" from their and "Adjust Size" it shows as 425 x 527 pixels

So it's big enough.

So, a big enough image in Everweb selected for the "Social Media Image"—that should do it, right? Sorry, I've searched for help on this new feature of Everweb (which seems like a great idea!) but I haven't found it. Please advise! Thank you again

It is working properly for me now. Facebook probably just had the older information cached.
