I've tried to add some "stuff" to my website front page and posted here about why it wasn't showing up and I just couldn't get it to work. Well I know why, nothing can be added to the home page. I don't know why. Is it a bug? Did I click something? I can't figure it out. For the sake of making it obvious, I put in my address and a huge hour glass pix on the front page of my site, yet when I upload it, its not there. I check show layout to see if something maybe was "over the page" but nothing is in the way. Nothing is "locked" so I don't know what is going on. I'm uploading 2 photo's one is a screenshot of my site on Everweb so you can see how obvious the additions are. The second one is my site after the upload and you can see those elements are not there. I can't add anything to the home page regardless of what it is. All other pages seem ok and I can add and subtract stuff. Please help! Susan www.virtualassistantcapecod.com PS Adding this hours after original post.. also when I'm Everweb and on any page, if I scroll up or down the page goes blank, totally white then the elements of the page appear and again and blink, blink, blink many times before the page is how it should look and I can work on it. Based on your screenshot, your website is still publishing. Try using the Publish Entire Site under the File menu and see if that works.

Oh Paul, Yes I took the screenshot as it was still uploading but believe me I didn't post this until I've tried it every single which way and each time I of course checked it once it was completely uploaded. Just as a test, even though I've done this 10 times, I just published the entire site yet again, right now. I took my screenshot this time after it was done, as you can see. And if you go to my site right now, I've checked it in both safari and chrome, that big hour glass and my address are NOT on the uploaded site. I'm telling you it's just dead. The other pages of the site still upload whatever I put on them, but the front "home" page does not. I'm telling you, it's stuck, dead, sleeping. PS I am unable to upload an image here of the screen shot. Not sure why, I was able to attach an image in the original question. So I uploaded it to my site (further proof that everything works except the "home" page. http://virtualassistantcapecod.com/everwebpix.html Again the Everweb software when I scroll up and down on any page on any of my websites, disappears for about 2 seconds and then goes thru about 5 blinks before I'm able to see the page and or work on it. PS I just wanted to add that I took the hour glass down on that second URL the "about" page of my site. I had 2 potential clients email me and tell me I had a "goof" in my site. But the "everwebpix.html page is still up so you can see I can add to the site on every page except the "home" page. Last edit 11 years ago |

Your HTML Snippets have incorrect code in them. I saw quickly that your stat counter code is incomplete. Make sure you are using the correct code for it and publish again. That is causing the current problem.

Well Paul, You're a genius ;) Next time I have a problem I'll know to check those sorts of things. I'm still in the learning phase of all this and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. I never would have found that as I didn't know a little html snippet could foul things up so completely. Thank you so much. Susan |
