Viewing Everweb Standalone RENEWAL FEE

Everweb Standalone RENEWAL FEE

User: Christopher 11 years ago
This is actually a post sale question. When I purchased the standalone, I thought it was a one-time fee. That's even what it says when I look at my account: paid/no due date. Why then am I receiving an invoice for $56.44 USD for Addon - Everweb Standalone Renewal?

You paid a one time fee for the software with 1 years worth of updates. The renewal fee is for another year of updates.

If the renewal is non-mandatory and for upgrades, then maybe an invoice shouldn't automatically be generated. If I do nothing, "payment will be taken automatically". Makes me think this software is going to cost fifty-some bucks a year in perpetuity.

I would imagine that most users would want to receive updates since EverWeb is being developed at a fast pace and every version upgrade has been worthwhile so far.

The way in which we create websites is changing all the time (or should be) and it's good to know that the software we use is being developed accordingly.

True. But just like any software you still have to pay for, it's important to know what the updates are before purchase. Otherwise, things add up! I'm still on PS Elements 10 for example because the latest version didn't include retina support. I didn't need that upgrade but may want the next.

Note to Rage: Please don't make payment for the update automatic. Otherwise, give us an option for that please. Thanks

It's my understanding that you don't have to update/pay if you don't want to. If you have ver 1.6 and your renewal comes up you can not pay, continue to use ver 1.6, then pay when you're ready to update...

Sorry about this. The renewal is not mandatory. The invoice should not have been generated. I have gone ahead and cancelled this particular invoice for you.

If anyone else experiences this, please email our customer support department to let us know and we will correct it for you.

I am trying to pay, but the payment-page does not accept Norwegian phone numbers and keeps telling me to enter a state, well we do not have states ;)

I can fix the state-thing, but not the number. Do you have fake US-number I can use?

I am not able to update the SW before I have paid, and I want to pay ;)
