Viewing Facebook Button doesn't work

Facebook Button doesn't work

User: Anna G. 11 years ago
Hey,

I created a Facebook button and linked it to my page, but it doesn't show at all on Safari, and only a grey box on Firefox and Opera.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thank you!

You would need to post the URL to a published page so that we can look at the code.

A couple weeks ago I came across the thread asking people to show off their EW site. As I was looking at sites in that thread, I noticed some had a grey box with the word Tweet in them. Since there is no way to send messages and I don't know if they still keep things updated or still use EW, I just moved on instead of asking about it. I was looking at them using Safari.

Can you help me, please ?

Your Facebook Like and Share buttons are displayed as they should be.

Launch the page in Safari and hit the browser refresh button a few times to force a reload from the server rather than the browser cache.

You probably need to clear the cache in Safari. In the latest version its in the Safari menu - "Clear History and Website Data".

I noticed that sometimes it takes a day or two for Safari to catch up... It happened to me when making changes. It will be showing correctly on every other device (including Safari on another computer) but not on the computer I am working with. Clearing cache doesn't help...But then in a day or so it will work correctly.
