Hi All, I've got some code to track how users use my site from google analytics. It says to paste the code into each page of my website. Do you know if I need to use the HTML snippet or can I paste the code in the header or footer section instead? Any advice? Thanks John |

Paste the code into the site wide Footer Code box in the Site Publishing Settings page.

How do we know that when pasting code into the Footer (Google Analytics code) it's really working? I pasted the following code (same code I was using under iWeb on every pages) into the Footer Code field of the Site Publishing Settings (I'm publishing on my own hosted server) but still have no real time feedback from Google Analytics. <script type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXX-X']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); </script> |

When I search within all my published files, the code does not appear anywhere. That means even if the code is into the field, when publishing my site, it is not integrate into the files. Am I missing a step? |

| Just found out that when I Quit Easyweb and reopen the app, my Footer code is no longer there. Is it a bug or because I'm publishing to an external server, the code is not saved? | |

There's no analytics code in your published files. After you paste the code into the Site Wide footer code box, make sure you select a page in the left column to ensure that all the page names turn red before publishing. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Tried it few times, waiting that all pages turn red, no code in the published files. Quit Easyweb, reopened it and no more code into the main Footer section or the site. Something is not saved when publishing. |

Can you post a screen recording of what you are doing because it works fine for me; You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu. Once you are done, your recording will be on your desktop. You can upload it to http://youtube.com or http://www.ge.tt ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

OK, maybe it was my mistake but I was copying the code under the Footer Code section of each pages. It did not worked. I then copied the same code under the Head Code section of every pages and it's working. I did tested the Head Code section of the whole site (Site Publishing Settings section) and same behaviour, the code is not saved and the files generated does not contains the code. So I will use the page by page Head section for now. |

You don't need to go page by page. The code boxes in the Site Publishing Settings page insert the code into every page of your site anyway.

Now I'm able to have the code published from the Site Publishing Settings but even if I delete the code on every pages, it's still appear twice under each pages code. I had to remove one of them on every pages before transferring the files to my Web Server. Still no code appear in the Header field but the publishing is working??? I'll try to nail down the bug and reproduce it. |
