What's the deal with the Facebook Like Widget?

I'm not a big FB user and don't want to direct people to my FB page. But I like the idea of people clicking on a Like button beside one of my movies and my weblink showing up on their FB page. Is that what this does?

Okay, I meant to say the Facebook Button. Can someone please explain this to me. I insert it and it says "generating preview" and that's it. In Inspector under the Settings wheel I see Rage's URL. I've published and it says 183 others like this. Like what? Rage or me? ;) I don't have or want a Facebook page for my website. So I won't have a URL to put in there. I would like to use the Facebook Like button though, if when people click it, it appears on their facebook page advertising my site. Is that what this does? ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

Alright, it appears no one's online today. So I replaced the Rage URL with the URL of that page. Is that the idea? I did a test, added a comment, then went to my FB page. Looks like it works, but it also looks like there should a be a picture inside the little square instead of a blank space? See below: If I click on the blank square, it takes me to my page. That I like! ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |
