Website won\'t publish

User: Nigel J. 10 years ago
I've several times without success to publish my website. Have tried restarting, quiting programmes and a combination the end result is the same, i.e.:
______________________________________
Not Found

The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Have put quicktime video in Dropbox re RAGE Software Support - trying to publish website

Please advise,
Thanks

When finished; publishing tab tells me successfully published. So tried entering actual site address - website came up - initially with basic draft headings. Clicked on profile and entered the site. All pages unfurled in segments, tried in firefox, chrome and safari - same results. Bitty and messy - don't know what's going on here.

Cheers.

Because your first page is a directory your actual website URL is;

http://cepd.biz/profile/

We need to put a feature in EasyWeb that redirects your main domain (http://cepd.biz) to your subdirectory (http://cepd.biz/profile/) if that sub directory is your first page.

In the current version you can fix this by placing a regular web page (not a directory) as your first page under BUSINESS - CHRYSALIS site.

Thanks Paul,

Have included a first page and url works fine.

The pages still unfurl in segments and pages seem to take longer than they should. Is there anyway to improve this, i.e. more uniform and quicker opening of each page?

Cheers.

EasyWeb creates highly optimized websites but if you use a lot of images, which you are, it will be slow. Fortunately EasyWeb makes sure your pages are cached so the second time someone visits your website it isn't as slow.

To make it faster reduce the number of images you use for the page and browser background. The gradient you use for the page background is exported as an image. If you set the angle to 0,90,180 or 360 it will load much faster though because it will use CSS tiling instead of one big image.
