Viewing Web page stats?

Web page stats?

User: Paul Sullivan 10 years ago
Sorry to post what I am sure is another really dumb noob question.

How do I see how many people are viewing my site? Someone told me I have to install a widget on the web page?

Thanks to everyone for helping me get my web site off the ground (www.eyelearning.co.uk) . Its not much to look at but considering my level of IT ignorance a major achievement and a real testament to this programme!

Cheers

OK sorry I figured it out!
(statcounter in an HTML widget if there is anyone else even more clueless than me which doubt)!!!

It really depends on what code you are being asked to use.

Can you post the code you are using?

It's better to place statistic code like Goole Analytics in the site wide footer code box.

Dear Roddy

Thanks for the reply.
I just signed up with statcounter and posted the code they gave me into an HTML snippet. It does seem to work pretty well. I haven't pasted the code in case I breach of some sort of copyright /ip issue. From my point of view its really easy to do and works.

Best Wishes

I don't think there's any problem in posting it since it's now on your website for anyone to see!

The code is in three parts.

java script...

HTML...

Link...
View My
Stats
The java script would go into the page footer code box or in the site wide code box if you want it on every page of your site.

The HTML would go into a Snippet. It is contained in a to display alternative content when visitors have java script turned off in their browser.

The link is optional. It can go into another HTML Snippet if you really want it.

I would put all of the code in to the Site footer code field.

This code produces a visible counter which you may want to place in a specific place on the page.
