Viewing Opening a file from Time Machine Backup

Opening a file from Time Machine Backup

User: Carmine M. 2 months ago
Hi All,

I use Time Machine to backup my Mac and today I thought I would open file from Time Machine to test that they work. The panic took over when I tried to open the file and it didn't!

I tried to open the file directly from the time machine and it's just unresponsive (doesn't do anything).

I tried to copy the file onto my desktop and open it from there and it just says that the Assets Cannot Be found?

Any ideas?

Hi Carmine,

I completely understand how alarming it is when a backup file doesn't seem to open properly, but please don't panic. We should be able to get your project sorted out.

To help me narrow this down, could you please confirm a couple of details for me?

1. Are you attempting to open this file on a brand-new or different Mac?
2. Have you already downloaded and installed the EverWeb software application onto this computer?

Thanks for your reply.

1. I’m trying to open the file up on a the Mac that I use everyday (same as where it’s saved).

2. Yes I’ve been using Everweb for years.

Hi Carmine,

Thank you for the update.

We'll need to examine your project file to determine why this is happening.

Could you please log in to your Client Area, click Open Ticket, and create a new support ticket?

When creating the ticket, please include either a brief description of what happens when you open the project or a full-screen screenshot of the error message.

Then upload your .everweb or .ewbackup file using the link below:

https://www.ragesw.com/ewprojectupload/

Once the upload has finished, please include the upload link in your support ticket.

Please do not post the upload link here, as this forum is public.

Best regards,
J.S.
