Hi, Being by no means an expert on EverWeb it's very well possible that my future request is already feasible but I simply overlook the way to do it. Here's the use case: In an effort to move away a little bit from YouTube, I post a couple of videos on our website. They can be found by using the search box. So far everything works fine. What I would like is that once a person has viewed video that there would be a very easy way to share the URL thus indicating where that video is located on our website with somebody else. Could be by email, could also be by socials in the best case of course both. (And yes, I'm pro Mastodon and the Fediverse). |

Hi Paul, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your use case with us! It is great to hear that you are hosting videos directly on your website to build more independent content. To make sure I fully understand your goal: do you mean that you want to include a dedicated "Share" button next to the player that generates a clean link pointing *only* to the raw video file itself, without loading any of the rest of your website's layout, navigation, or surrounding content? I ask because under normal circumstances, a visitor can simply copy and share the standard webpage URL directly from their browser's address bar to send someone straight to the specific page where that video is currently embedded on your site. Could you please clarify if you are looking for a way to extract just the raw video source URL, or if there is a specific reason why sharing the standard page URL from the browser address bar doesn't quite fit what you are trying to achieve? Once I have a better understanding of what you mean, I can give you more accurate information regarding what is currently possible within the platform. ------------------------------- EverWeb Customer Support Submit Tickets or Learn More |

It's absolutely true that you can copy and paste a URL directly from our website. It's exactly what I do if I happen to have made an earlier video that has the answer to a question of the client. But....I have quite some clients that don't know how to do this (sorry, but really) and I have some visitors that use an iPad and in that case it's slightly more work. If there would be a button that would make it Really Simple, than that would be of help. And I know I ask a lot, since most of my clients are addicted to WhatsApp and in the ideal world they would click and then get the option to select WhatsApp or Mail and then that URL should be copied and pasted to their own WhatsApp, for further distribution. Signal, Telegram, Session and DeltaChat are - unfortunately - hardly used. |
