| The new features in version 4.4 seem like they have great potential. I'm playing around with the containers, and I have one embedded in a responsive row, however it does not see to be responsive at all when I preview it. Can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong, so it would be great to get some videos that show how to use them, and how to make them responsive. The Blog post mentions putting containers inside of containers, with the ability to create some very advanced functionality...I would like to see some examples of those and how to create them. | |

Hi Jesse, We are working on videos for the new features in 4.4 for its release. We will finalize a tutorial for containers in the next few days. It is difficult to provide specific advice without seeing exactly what you are doing or what you are expecting. However, containers are not necessarily responsive. Though they can adjust their with when marked as full width. The real point of them is that in responsive rows you can put a number of them in there and the responsive row will adjust them vertically on small screens. Does this make sense? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Hi Jesse, You can now find an in-depth video tutorial on the new Container Element here. You will see how you can use it within Responsive Rows. If you have any feedback, please let us know. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Thank you for the video tutorial. I can see the design potential with the new container feature, especially with the free-flow option. I am looking forward to seeing what I can build with it. Combined with the Scrolling and Mouse effects, I can imagine some fantastic designs being created. I’d love to see some more advanced techniques demonstrated in the tutorials. I am having trouble using the container widget, however. There must still be bugs in the beta, as whenever I click on an image that I add into a container (full width), it either enlarges it or shifts it off to the right of the screen until it disappears completely. I can’t really get it to work in order to test it correctly. I was really hoping for a container or flexbox-like widget with grids that has the ability to do what the free-flow container widget does, but also have responsive elements inside of it. We still have no easy way of dropping in different sized elements, such as images or videos, to accommodate multiple devices. I understand there is a Responsive section in the inspector to show specific images/objects on different devices, but to use this can be confusing and frustrating with the hidden elements and makes it difficult to design visually. Trying to do this with the container widget was practically impossible, but it may be due to lingering bugs. Many of the widgets from Roddy have the option to add three image sizes for backgrounds or Hero images (small, medium, and large) to accommodate mobile, tablet and desktop. I REALLY want to see this option added to default Everweb widgets, especially the flex-box, responsive row and container widgets, as it makes it so much easier for responsive pages. A container widget that has free-flow for text/object placement and options for multiple background image sizes, that can also adjust the position of the objects inside of it when widows are re-sized, would be ideal. If the container widget can be adapted and/or upgraded to perform these functions, I believe it would improve its usefulness for responsive sites. As of right now, there is no way (that I can figure out) to create a HERO widget that can easily adapt to multiple device sizes, as well as place text/headings/button links in precise locations, without resorting to using 3rd party widgets. I was really hoping the container widget would be able to do this, as the free-flow option would be ideal to accomplish this. Perhaps it can be done and I'm just not understanding how to accomplish it. Scroll Effects: I am so thankful we have these now! They make a great addition to Everweb, and I’ve already started playing around with them to see what they can do. My feedback would be that we need a “scroll in” and “scroll out” option (especially for the fade effect). It’s great that objects and text can fade out after scrolling into view, however it would also be very beneficial to have the option to fade in when scrolling into view. I see there is now a “reverse action on scroll up”, but it does not seem to have that particular effect, unless it’s just a bug with the beta version. Mouse Animations: Another great addition that was needed. I haven’t played with this much yet, but I am looking forward to testing it out. My feedback... I would love to see the option for “outer glow” and “drop shadow” on Mouseover animations. This would help to create some unique button effects. Loving all these new additions to Everweb...hopefully you are able to implement some of the responsive features I mentioned. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. |

Hi Jesse, Thanks for the great feedback. That image behavior in the full width Container does sound like a beta quirk. If you can send the exact steps and maybe a quick screenshot or short video, we can try to reproduce it here. We hear you on the responsive and free flow wish list including multiple background image sizes, easier handling of mixed size elements, scroll in fade effects, and more mouseover styles. We have noted all of these for review. Really appreciate you testing these out and sharing your ideas. Best regards, R.E. ------------------------------- EverWeb Customer Support Submit Tickets or Learn More |

Hi Jesse, Thank you for the feedback, it is very much appreciated. Quote: There must still be bugs in the beta, as whenever I click on an image that I add into a container (full width), it either enlarges it or shifts it off to the right of the screen until it disappears completely. I can’t really get it to work in order to test it correctly. If you could send us a screenshot or a project showing this issue, we would very much appreciate it. We can get it fixed ASAP once we can reproduce it. Quote: We still have no easy way of dropping in different sized elements, such as images or videos, to accommodate multiple devices. I understand there is a Responsive section in the inspector to show specific images/objects on different devices, but to use this can be confusing and frustrating with the hidden elements and makes it difficult to design visually. This is already being worked on. We understand how important it is. Quote: My feedback would be that we need a “scroll in” and “scroll out” option (especially for the fade effect). It’s great that objects and text can fade out after scrolling into view, however it would also be very beneficial to have the option to fade in when scrolling into view. I see there is now a “reverse action on scroll up”, but it does not seem to have that particular effect, unless it’s just a bug with the beta version. I'm happy to hear you like the scroll effects. We wanted to create a simple scroll effects feature and are currently working on a much more advanced one. Quote: My feedback... I would love to see the option for “outer glow” and “drop shadow” on Mouseover animations. This would help to create some unique button effects. You can add the shadows now for mouse hover and mouse down states. An outer glow option might be possible with playing with the shadow settings or trying to the new Image shadow option. We will be improving this as well for EverWeb 4.5. Quote: Loving all these new additions to Everweb...hopefully you are able to implement some of the responsive features I mentioned. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. We are very excited about this release as well. Thank you again for your feedback. If you could provide a sample of your above issue with the new Containers, we will get it fixed ASAP. Thank you, ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

HI Paul, I appreciate the detailed reply, and also that you and the team are working to add more advanced responsive features! I am exited to see what Everweb has in store for us. And yes, the drop shadow is already available, sorry for the error. I'll give the glow effect a try using that. I sent an email to support with some videos demonstrating the container bugs. I realized afterward I didn't include a video that showed I selected "full width" for the image/container, but I can assure you I did. Thank you! Jesse |

Hi Jesse, We posted a new version of EverWeb 4.4 in the client area that I think should fix this issue for you. Since we don't have your project I could not test It to be sure. Please let me know if you have any additional issues with this one. If you do, sending a product just with the Home page would be appreciated to get it fixed. Thank you, ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
