Just for my understanding: When the webp-option is selected, will the jpg-pic still delivered to browsers that can't handle webp? cheers, Ingo |

Hi Ingo. Yes, indeed, the WebP option is designed to enable the loading of WebP images in browsers that support this format. For browsers that do not support WebP, the original image format (JPG, PNG) will be displayed. In regards to the WebP, is it still necessary to use an app such as ImageOptim or Tinify to reduce file sizes? I'm assuming if the browser doesn't support WebP then smaller jpeg or png files will still be necessary. I'm just wondering if any image quality will be lost when Everweb is converting already reduced size jpeg images to WebP format? |
