Viewing Page background colour

Page background colour

Is there a gradient function for page background colour, same or similar to that in iweb? If not is it possible to add one? Maybe even include textured backgound colouring.

Page background fill is in the Page inspector...

For a textured background you would use a small image tile. Drag the image into the Assets, choose "Image Fill" for the background, select "Tile", click the "Choose" button and then browse to and select the image tile.

Here's an example of a black textured image which can be "tiled" to create a background...

Drag it off this page onto your desktop and then into Assets in EasyWeb.

The ability to create textured colors would be so very awesome...not just for page background colors but for any 'shape' that is chosen to create buttons, image frames, lines, etc. I'm not sure how this works and please forgive any ignorance on my part...where did the 'small' image tile come from, and can you define 'small'? Was it created in easy web or was it imported via 'choose' from another source?

I created a small square of a web safe color on a home page and tried to drag it to assets, but it would not go beyond the page and into the assets file (which by the way, is an awesome upgrade from Iweb.)

To repeat, I don't understand the process but the ability to create colored textures would be so great. I have a very outdated version of photoshop that I created colored texture in, but it didn't produce the quality of texture that your black tile did, and that is what I am hoping for. I hope this makes enough sense for you to be able to respond succinctly to answer my question.

Thank you for any response

I'm not sure if you're asking if you want EasyWeb to be able to create textured backgrounds or if you already have a textured background and want to use it in EasyWeb.

EasyWeb can't create textures but you can use any texture you already have as the browser, page or shape background.

You can find textures on Google or you can create your own with a graphics editor.

There really isn't a point to creating a small square of a web safe color because you can just assign a background color (unless you just did this for testing). I do not know what you mean by "it would not go beyond the page and into the assets file". What were you expecting to do?

You can't drag an object from the EasyWeb canvas to Assets - drag it in from the Finder.

The image tile is one that I have had lying around for years. Let Google find background tiles for you. Search for "website textured background image".

Download a suitable image to the desktop, select "Image Fill" for the page background, select "Tile" and then click the "Choose..." button to browse to the image on the desktop.

Thank you Roddie,

This is excellent.

Is it possible to have a textured page which can be gradiated and even re coloured?

That's way beyond me. You would need to ask a Photoshop Phreak that question.
