The widget update "flashing" is fixed in version 3.9 but has been replaced by an animated refresh icon. The blank responsive page has a nasty looking, hard to read notice with an olive green background. Quite unnecessary and confusing for those using responsive widgets. Hi Roddy, There is no animated refresh icon. The UI was just changed when you don't use the Quick Preview feature of the Widget. As mentioned, you should turn this flag on for Widgets. The notice on the blank responsive page is to let users know the basics of how the responsive websites work.
