Multiple Requests / Ideas / Comments (please)

Hey guys,

Firstly apologies if some of these are already available or have work arounds. I am just returning to EW personally after a really bad experience with Wordpress. Long story short I want to develop my own sites then I can have a local copy to install as I wish (if / when something goes very wrong).

Let me just say that I am blown away with the development work that has gone into this program especially with making things responsive (as they should be). I am a graphic and print designer and a photographer and having a canvas such as this with little coding is amazing. I have been weighing up using this tool vs Sparkle (another drag and drop tool) however it has limitations.

A few humble requests from me below.. Im not sure if any 3rd party developers have any solutions to these but please shout up if you do.

THIS IS A BIT OF A READ SO PLEASE BEAR WITH ME, But I would really appreciate answers to all questions please!

1) Could the responsive Row widget be a little more customisable? You will have seen me "How do I" plea to have a hero image and text and a company logo all aligned / spaced and stacked however i wish please?. see the link for an example of what I'm looking for here.

Link to screen shots of current output vs desired one.

2) The blogging tool is a little restrictive for me and slows down as I add more content. (I stopped using it and went to Wordpress because of this in the past). Is this tool doing to get a facelift in the future? can you add posts and update them from an iPad? Would it be possible to make the look of the index page look a little more appealing with more user control?

3) I would like to be able to sell products and have an online store that is mine. I know EW links to PayPal and Stripe but a customisable widget that could manage the store products and quantity and payments / notifications etc would be really something special. Something that will simplify and accelerate the entire process giving options for look and feel but giving the control of a proper online store. - Yes I know dedicated apps can do this however I want complete ownership after the experience I have recently had.

4) EW still uses .HTML could this be added as an optional to also convert to .PHP?

5) Would it be possible to request flat file (text file) database creation and support that would live with the website as part of the build.?, this could then tie in with requests 2, 3 and 4 for user management, product management and comments for blogs. Yes GDPR would require a privacy banner and privacy statement for the site but again this could be part of the widget.

6) Podcast support would be amazing again to link to the iTunes Store or have as local podcasts and link these out to the store from the local repo. Again a simple widget with title, time and artwork would be amazing.

7) A setting on a specific page or a global setting to stop right clicking and copy and pasting of material would be a real advantage. I have a lot of copyrighted images and found them cropping up on other peoples websites as they have been obtained from my sites.

8) Fast loading times and clean efficient responsive code please, its difficult to get EW passed through the Google optimiser check to get a good score.

9) Im thinking of hosting a small site with you however the bandwidth is an issue for me as most UK hosting is unlimited access with a metered connection. Is this something you guys are assessing for the future?

I know this is a lot to ask, I just wanted to get this down whilst it was fresh in my mind.
If any of the 3rd party developers have anything please let me know.

The new EverWeb ThemeKit Themes and extensions are optimised for fast download on mobile devices and a Google PageSpeed Insights score in the "green" as you can see on THIS page.

At the moment I am in the process of creating about 100 new widgets specifically designed for eCommerce by providing fast download and off screen content to make the pages more users friendly for mobile phone users.

Two of EverWeb's professional users are helping me to integrate with ECWID - now called API2CART - to create a professional class business website using widgets only - no EverWeb default features or the Responsive Row needed - for better design and download efficiency.

Roddy that sounds really good, do you have a timeline for the eCommerce widget?.
I'll have a look at the ThemeKit also it sounds fantastic.

Im still hoping the EW guys have some commentary on the requests also.

The eCommerce widgets will be available in three packs of around 32 widgets in each. The first two packs will be for general use in both eCom and Business websites.

The third pack will be to integrate EverWeb with ECWID. I just started today and have made some basic widgets for a single product, a product grid, a fixed cart and a cart header which need to be tested.

Any basic product can be supplemented with a slide out info drawer and slide over media in various forms.

The method of creating a product build sequence still has to be figured out!

I will post a link to a demoASAP.

I am still working on a list of the things I would like the EverWeb developers to add - and to remove!

Thanks Roddy that sounds good I'm looking forward to seeing it. As an aside what's the possibility of the carts connecting with API's such as Printify? (http://www.printify.com) for example to pass order information over of completed purchases etc. These type of apps allow integration with things such as Etsy and Prestacart etc.

Im disappointed the EW team haven't responded on the rest of this thread they are normally quite quick.
