Viewing New Slide Show Fill Question

New Slide Show Fill Question

User: John J. 2 years ago
Question: is it possible to add text for each slide in the new Slide Show Fill In feature on a non-responsive page so that the text changes along with the photo and gradient slides?

I am building a non-responsive site using an older template (News Reporter) in v3.6. I have added the Slide Show Fill In feature using the following, which looks a lot like the feature explained in the tutorial video:

A rectangle shape using gradient slides in png format.
A image used as a fill-in slide show.
I adjusted the slide timing for both separately.

The result came out even better than I imagined! However, I can't figure out how to add text-as-a-slide show on a non-responsive page using this feature or if it is possible.

Thanks!

Hi John,

Thanks for the feature suggestion!

Unfortunately, this is not available at the moment, but I will forward it to our technical department so we can implement it in some future releases.

Hi John,

This is a follow up to your recent question.

If you want to use different texts for each new picture in a slideshow, you would need to use a Responsive row on the non-responsive site and add a text box to each slide.

1. The Responsive row can be used on a responsive OR non-responsive site, and each slide can have any content on it, including separate text on each slide.

2. If you want to put text at the bottom of an image, you can use Inspector->Text Settings and align the text to the bottom.

Hope it helps.

This works beautifully!

A note that’s immediately clear in my experience: the only way to add text to the Slid Show Fill feature is to add the text box and manually embed the text into each desired layer and add a transparent .png file so that the text blends with the background.

The wasn’t clear from the tutorial video, as it look as if added text was merely a function of drag and drop, and that embedding text into a different layer was possible if on has made a mistake. It appears for me that I have to embed the text each time no matter where it is placed in the responsive row,

Cheers!
