Noob confusion on mobile site

This isn't a feature request. But it might rate as a suggestion for an edit of the manual, to take account of noob ignorance. (On the understanding that EverWeb is intended for folks of a wide range of geekery, including none or very little).

I've spent several days trying to figure out why my site isn't loading mobile pages on my phone. I've had a support ticket going on the subject. But that also fell foul of my misunderstanding of the mobile site thing. So to explain - here's the understanding I took away from my careful study and several re-reads of the manual, the knowledge base and the tutorial video:
1. To create a mobile site you need just one mobile page.
2. All you need to do with that page is set the base theme elements (colours, background etc) and set the content width to 480px.
3. Then you configure the mobile settings in the inspector for each full width page so they all redirect to the same one-and-only mobile page.
4. As a result all mobile devices (phones and/or tablets) visiting the site will see the content of the whole full-width site (every page) in a mobile layout.

Now you guys may be wetting yourselves at the thought that anyone could possibly think that's what the manual etc says. But i can only say that was what it conveyed to nooby me, through multiple re-reads and re-watches (of the video). Nothing I read or watched disabused me of that perception.

Reflecting back I think the core of the problem is simple. Nowhere in the documentation / tutorials does it say any of the following:
a. Add a mobile page for each full width page;
b. Replicate the content from each full-width page to the mobile page it redirects to; or
c. 480px width should be right for most phones, but not most tablets or other mobile devices. (And then that might be a cue to refer to responsive sites ... ?)

So there are my, I hope, constructive suggestions for continued noob friendliness :)

Hi Lance,

Thanks for the feature suggestions.

Yes, you are correct, and we will definitely update the manual to be more explicit in stating that you typically would create one mobile page for each corresponding desktop page.

Great. I now have another related beef about the manual. The section about the mobile settings is in a different part of the manual from the bits about breakpoints, and it doesn't mention either breakpoints or tablet width. That's a biggie. If a noob user has decided to skip responsive sites for now and just deal with full-width, they won't know that breakpoints apply to mobile settings.
