Web URL required for publishing to local folder

What is the purpose of the extra requirement of having to include a web URL for publishing to a local folder? What does it add to the published data? I am running 3.5.0. I don't recall having this constraint in a previous version. For our testing the files are transferred to a in-house server that has no outside connection. What can I do to get around this issue? Thanks |

Hi Mark, The URL has always been required when publishing to a folder. It is needed to make sure your website works properly when published. You can enter any URL in there that you want if you are just testing your website. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Thanks Paul for the information. Will that bogus URL cause problems if I transfer directly to a host site from my server? It is a quality control thing. |

Hi Mark, No it shouldn't cause a problem. It is used mostly for SEO stuff and a few other minor areas. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
