Viewing Text Section Widget link bug

Text Section Widget link bug

User: Cornelis V. 2 years ago
EW version 3.5.0b Build: 2470, MacOS Mojave 10.14.6

In the 'Text Settings' part of the Text Section Widget you can set a link by clicking on the 'Insert Link' icon. In the 'Link Icon' dialog box you can set 'Open in New Window' at the bottom. The bug: even if you leave this unchecked the link will still open in a new window regardless.

Hi Cornelius,

I have been testing this and it works OK for me.

Are you able to reproduce this each time you make a link?

Hello Paul,

It's a page created prior to EW 3.5.0b. It contains 100 of 'Text Sections' stacked in a 'Responsive Row'.

I did some changes in the text with EW 3.5.0b build 2470 on SOME of the 'Text Sections', but didn't touch the 'Open in New Window' status. All of them were unchecked and opened in the same Safari window before.

After I published the text changes with EW version 3.5.0b build 2470 ALL of the 100 'Text Sections' opened in a new window. Also the ones I didn't change!

Only after I changed the 'Open in New Window' check box status to 'On' and back to 'Off' again repeatedly for each 100 individually and published the changes again, only then my problem was solved. Now the links do open in the same Safari window.

To me it looks like the old status of the 'Open in New Window' is not recognised by the new EW 3.5.0b?

I do have many old pages like this though......

Hi Cornelis,

If you still have older pages that have this issue, can you please send your project to customer support and indicate one of the pages that has this issue and that you have NOT yet fixed?

Thank you,

I created a ticket about the problem above with the info and the link to the uploaded project and the page name in question.
