Need help with headers and footers on a master page

So, I need to make some changes, so I'm trying to do things "right" this time and use headers and footers on a master page. (I've been "getting by" with doing it the hard way for a long time now!) I want the footer to automatically show up under the bottom element of a page, so I need to make the page "responsive" -- right? Well, when I do that it causes all kinds of problems. (Basically, even though I've perused the manual, watched what I think are the appropriate videos, and checked out the knowledgebase [to some extent], I've figured out that I basically just don't know what I'm doing!) Anyway, I think I've figured out how to get the elements into the headers and footers, but they won't stay beside each other. One shifts to under the other, and I CAN'T get them to align horizontally! It's just about GOT to be some simple thing I'm doing (or not doing), but I can't figure it out. What's worse, my site is now a total wreck (not live, but within EverWeb), so I can't change, update, or add anything until I get this fixed! Can somebody please, please, PLEASE point me in the right direction so I can understand this and fix the problem (that I know I myself caused!)? Thanks in advance! |

I thought I included a screenshot with this post, but I don't see it. I have one I can include, if that would help (and if I can figure out how to post it, since I guess the first try was unsuccessful!). | |
